At our Jacksonville, AR location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.
Fast-food chain serving fried fish & shrimp combo meals along with gumbo & funnel cakes. Based on 590 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 3.7 stars. Price $

The biggest complaint I have is that I waited 40 minutes for a drive-through order. When I did get my food, it was not hot, but merely warm. I did have a large order, but nothing was hot. The food tasted okay, but 40 minutes was excessive and unacceptable even if I were to dine in. There were only 2 cars ahead of me, and I should have known there was a problem when they were both directed to park instead of just receiving their food. The two people ahead of me received their food within 5 minutes of me receiving mine. By the time I left, the parking lot was full of cars, and none of them were dine in. It’s very simple, either close your drive-through, close your dining room, or hire more people. If you can’t find people to work, you need to close the store. The only saving grace to this visit is that the person who took my order, who is also the person to bring it out, was very pleasant. It really seemed as though only 2 people were running the entire store. 1 cook and 1 person serving food to parked cars and running drive through. The couple before me had 1 box of food. The other car had 2 boxes. Even if it’s made fresh to order, 40 minutes is long enough to serve 10 to 12 cars. Poor management of personnel is really the issue. Unless you have 2 fryers down and only operating on half of the equipment – poor management of people, or lack of, is the problem. If you’re running on a skeleton crew, you have to make choices. But none of the store’s issues should be at the customer’s expense.

We ate in Jacksonville. AR around 5 pm. The fish was good, but not hot and crispy that we are accustomed to. Green beans and coleslaw were good. Fried pickles were inedible. Will not do that again! Garlic shrimp was awful. Texture. Taste.. AWFUL. Nobody finished even one.Hushpuppies were good. Cracklins ..so so. Cheesecake good. A male employee in the kitchen kept bitching about his co-workers, etc. where diners could hear it, and really loudly if you’re trying to order. Awful atmosphere. And the restaurant really needs updating. There was a sign for 12 shrimp for $1.99 add on. It saidfree if the employee didn’t mention it. The employee didn’t mention it. My friend pointed it out and asked if he gets the 12 free shrimp and he was ignored. Employees need training and the store/franchise owner needs to take an interest in the restaurant.

It takes quite a while to get orders. I believe that it is because there are too few employees. I love the food! I drive 30 minutes at least to get there. People are kind and helpful. I live in Beebe AR.

I don’t know what happened to the usual cook but my food today was trash. After receiving burnt shrimp and making it all the way back home and had to drive all the way back for the new ones be cold and hard and have no flavor. My sandwich doesn’t even taste like “Captain D’s” food. Every restaurant has a specific taste and my food tasted like cardboard. I will never again come to this one in Jacksonville. Bring the old cook back.

I love the food, but the service and cleanliness really need work. Stopped in for lunch one day, and both employees ( the restaurant wasn’t busy) were in truck smoking. They both got out and went straight behind the counter to help us, but obviously, they didn’t wash their hands. Not sure if we will be back to this location.

Wow, this is no longer a tasty place to eat. The quality of the food was terrible. I’m not sure if that’s all Captain D’s or just the one in Jacksonville Arkansas. 2 deluxe seafood platters and a Cajun oyster 6 piece. Received a plain oyster. These were fishy and more burned than not. Did not finish. The crab cakes with the platter was gummy. Fish and cole slaw were edible. Broccoli was plain no butter or salt. At $36.39, the price is far, far too expensive for the quality.

There’s no one in line at drive-thru, so we were first in line we pulled out and was asked to wait. 15 minutes later our order still have not been taken. I drove up to the counter talking to someone with a drink. Weed cart and was getting ready to go in but decided to try the drive-thru one more time we went back to the drive-thru and it took another 5 minutes for I order to be taken. Once our order was taken we had to wait another 30 Plus minutes to receive our order. After taking 5 minutes to drive home and started to eat the order, the food was very cold and we were missing and item. This was a very disappointing experience for us

There general manager is very rude most days and treat her employees like trash. Everytime I go in shes never in her store actually working. Amber Smith is the worst GM I have ever met. She comes in drunk and high it’s ridiculous. There regional manager really needs to investigate.
