At our Memphis, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Personally, I’m not a fan of Captain D’s, but my wife loves it. We were on our way home so I pulled into the drive-thru to treat her. She ordered the combo of fish and garlic shrimp, rounding out the meal with corn and cole slaw. She was very pleased with her meal. Gotta say that the guy handling our order was on the ball, making sure of our condiment choices and moving us quickly along; very friendly, also.

This place was the best Captian D’s I have ever been. The food was and fresh and only took about 7 mins. The people were courteous, helpful, and made me feel so welcome and appreciated. They loaded me up with sauce which I love and cheered me on for my keto success. First timer. I will be back. And yes the grilled fish and shrimp kabobs with broccoli and a salad seem pretty darn keto friendly to me.

ever since this Captain D’s re-opened again it has been great! The drive-thru can look busy but the line moves fast! but I am begging the franchise owner to get more quality workers in there to help out that manager! He is busting his butt in there every single time and lord knows how long he is working without a break… Please owners! Help this man out! smiling through lunch hour all by himself… He deserves a raise plus vacation for keeping this location afloat!

I usually go on Sunday after church as they have a special menu for seniors. Quality is mixed depending on who’s cooking that day I guess. Fish and shrimp are usually good but sometimes chicken tenders are overcooked, dry and tough as happened yesterday. The previous time they were fine and I would have rated 4 stars.
