At our Pelham, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I had not been to this location in literally more than 10 years because I had too many bad experiences and it’s funny because I literally drive by this captain d’s location almost everyday and figured eventually it would go out of business. Well… I recently tried again and it was stellar service and the fish was fried perfectly and not too greasy and the fries were hot and fresh. And the staff was friendly and upbeat. I’ll definitely go back next time I’m craving seafood. And the young lady at the counter talked me into getting the shrimp.

This is by far the worse. Not only was my fish old but was placed in a box that had the original fish crumbs in the bottom of the spicy fish that I order. The fries was colder than the coleslaw. The fish was old and the flesh of the fish had total separated from the skin. Sad but so true. I need a refund but was on lunch and didn’t have time to go back

I waited on my food for almost an hour when there were only two people in front of me. Also, when I finally got my food, I got a box of crumbs instead of what I ordered.

Absolutely the worst location I have experienced. The managers are not up to par On cleanliness, I’ve seen people, especially the managers take trash out with gloves and use the same gloves to handle food and cash. Also, this location is never opened on time. If you notice they’re always opening an hour to two hours later than normal, and when they don’t feel like cleaning, they lock the lobby up for consumers that want to go inside today. I experience the worst time because I waited an hour in line which is normal for this location just for them to tell me that the food I ordered was not available meaning they don’t carry this type of food they have advertised on their menu. I asked kindly to speak with a manager and was given someone who is not even a manager the manager refused to speak to me. This location is not only a Health code violation, but also not consumer friendly. I will be writing corporate every day if I have to in order to get this location in shape or closed down.

It’s kind of run down… needs an update. The service was poor the day I ate there. The fries were soggy but the shrimp was good. They did not have tea available on my visit. Hopefully, they will make improvements. I usually like Capt D”s.

When you wait in the drive through for 10 min think the food is hot. The experience was horrible. Took the food back for them to redo it… even worse. How about fried okra soggy; when you pinch it grease just all on your fingers. Fish the same. Redrops not except able either. Would not give my money back. Have to wait 24 hours. After 24 hours no refund. Have to talk to a GA [ by the name of Omar] still haven’t heard from him. Called corporate they were to email me haven’t gotten an email. That pelham location is awful. So many other people have gone they and have had terrible experiences.

This is probably the longest I’ve ever waited in a drive through line. But I will say, the employees were very nice.

Omg they were awesome. I only seen three workers. Drive thru was completely full. So my family in I decided to go in. The sweet cashier definitely had her hands full, but she greeted us with a smile. I seen two guys in back working at full force. The amount of time we waited (10 minutes) was great compared to the number of customers they had. I wish they had more help. But I seen, they definitely work as a team. The sweet lady was taking drive thru and inside dining orders. Somehow she still managed to bring our food to the table. My daughter got up to meet her, but she insisted and brought it to the table. Great experience.

Had to wait for two employees to take care of drive thru orders before someone would take our order. Part of our order was wrong and had to be redone. The rest of the food just sat on the counter while they fixed the order. Never heard a welcome, thank you, or come back again. Not sure why we stopped at Captain D’s, but this experience reminded me why I haven’t been in a while.

Worst meal I ever received. Smallest portions imaginable. I ordered two three-piece dinners each one had about nine uncooked fries and each one had one small ice cream scoop of mac & cheese. I had to cook the fries in an air fryer what you see in the pictures was for two orders. Keep in mind that each meal is $8.69 plus tax. I highly recommend you pick a different restaurant!
