At our Oneonta, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.
Fast-food chain serving fried fish & shrimp combo meals along with gumbo & funnel cakes. Based on 254 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 3.4 stars. Price $

Food was not fresh. All I got was fish fries and hush puppies. Fish and pups, not even done. Fries tasted 2 days old. Went in there at around 4, lady was more worried about cleaning up then taking our order.. I know everyone is short handed but dam…If your not busy, make it to order.. I had rather wait a few minutes than waist my money and time on something I can’t even eat…This use to be the best D’s around…

Good, friendly folks work there despite the fact they seem somewhat busy the majority of the time and always short handed. Food is of good quality and fresh and tasty. May have to wait a bit on it but delicious when you get it. And they have special senior meals at an affordable price on Wednesday and Sunday

Stopped in for lunch. Service was quick, that was a mistake. The “giant” fish sandwhich, my husbands usual favorite, the fish was literally 2 fish sticks, undercooked and cold in the middle. The fries were oily and cold. After a few bites into the sandwhich, and a few fries, we threw our food away. Now he is nauseated. We will not be visiting the Captain D’s in Oneonta, Al ever again.

Had to wait for 24 minutes in the drive thru, but the food was good

Slowest drive thru in Oneonta. Your lucky if they get back to you after asking you to hold on. You need to get this lady some help. She’s all by herself.

The fries were the only thing that tasted good. Fish had a weird funny taste, like it had been overcooked, and hush puppies were hard and dry. We spent over $50 and the food was terrible.

Drove quite a distance to pick up dinner and actually decided on Captain D’s at the last minute, as it wasn’t where we intended to go. Ordered food to go and had to pull up to wait on the large gumbo. Noticed we were also missing part of the order. Had to go in and get it and the worker was blasé about the missing item. Once we got home, and unpacked the food, we realized our previous missing food was not the worst part of the experience. The large gumbo was in a small coffee container and the sides that we chose were not what received This will be the first and last time we waste our time and money at this establishment.

Took forever to get our food and we were forced to listen obituary’s and local news extremely loud over the speaker. When asked about if they could turn it the lady snapped no we can’t. Service was not good!
