At our Winter Garden, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Glenstone Power Wash
Hushpuppies were good! The place has an overall sticky quality. Condiments, napkins, and refills are all behind the counter. Ask for the exact amount of condiments before you sit down. Staff is similar to Burger Kings… underwhelming! Expect 2 people working at all times, and management M.I.A. They do bring your food to you, so that’s a plus. As for the food, expect 35% seafood 65% batter. It was our 3rd time eating here (wanted to be fair before leaving a review), and it would take some serious changes for a revisit.

Innate Creativity
Whenever I am in the general area of Captain D’s & am ‘Lunch hungry’, I default to going there. I have enjoyed their yummy offerings each time & can not recall being disappointed even once after finishing-up! The people behind the counter whom have taken my orders did as well as possible, even upon an understaffed day. I haven’t been there since Monday…THANKS, now because of my Reviewing them, I might have to make a special trip

I took my son here for lunch, and it was a very sub-par experience. Every single table in the restaurant was filthy, with trash and/or greasy smears and hand prints on the tables and old food and more grease on the benches of the booths as well. I mentioned something to the front counter employee and she kinda giggled like it wasn’t a big deal. The entire time we ate our meal, nothing was cleaned at all by any employee. The customers coming in to sit had to wipe down their tables and seats, and throw the trash on the floor just so they could sit down. I’ll never return to this location.

I’m really surprised by some the recent positive reviews. Thought I’d give them a shot after not having eaten here in several months and sure enough I’ve been sitting in the drive through for going on half an hour as usual. Cars behind me are giving up and leaving. I don’t understand the issue. If you are that understaffed you need to close the store.

Order was placed on 7/17/2023 online when I got home part of my order was missing so I called into the store spoke to the drive thru attendant she admitted she forgot part of my order I requested a refund the manager then came to the phone she agreed to send me a gift card it’s been over 3 weeks no gift card and they kept my money I will never go to that establishment again that’s stealing
