A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I’m going to start with the two small negatives so I can end on two strong positives. The green beans were a bit salty but otherwise very well seasoned, and the okra should have been crispy rather than soft. Now for the big finish. Over the last year I’ve had fish that was slightly underdone at three different Captain D’s, not this one, in three different cities. However, the fish I had today was cooked to perfection, and the hush puppies were hands down the best I’ve had in any restaurant in quite a long time. I wish this Captain D’s was a little closer to my home.

I am really happy that Savannah has a Captain Ds again!! FINALLY!! I was just worried that it wouldn’t be managed well and would lose the hype, but I have been 3 times since they opened and they HAVE NOT disappointed me!! Only once I did not get any silverware or condiments for my 3 to go orders, but the other times they gave plenty of condiments before I could even ask. Employees are friendly. Keep up the good work!!! I am so happy to be getting a good seafood place. No one makes fried fish better!!

I love getting dinner and a show! The employees were fighting in front of everyone and they were still able to get my order done and to top it off the cops come. It was very good! Kudos to them! Will definitely be back. The only reason they didn’t five stars is because of the commotion I didn’t know if we were supposed to get drinks for our meal or not. We got water cups though!

The girl that was trying to take my order was absolutely clueless ! I could not understand her at all. Told her that I was ordering two different orders and all she could tell me I think was that spicy was only available and what were my sides. She was fixated on my sides and that was it.

Line wasn’t long but it was slow (its probably due to short staff), wasn’t a big deal I was in no rush. I haven’t had captain ds in over 2 years since we moved from our home. Food was just as delicious and the Mac n cheese was . Whoever was working the window wasn’t very customer service oriented. Didn’t even hand me my gallon of sweet tea, nor slide it to the edge where I could easily access it. I had to reach up from my car out the window to get it. But overall it was good. It’s a new restaurant, so I’ll give it another shot to see if the customer service gets better.

AC was out but that comes with growing pains. Woman at counter gave us a number but forgot to write it down to get our food. Food was mediocre was hoping for better. No smile or happy greeting. Understandable hot in the building but be somewhat happy.

How is this even legally allowed to be called food? Got the hot battered fish, it was absolutely horrible. Fries were cold and hard, the batter was so under cooked I had to scrape it off with a spoon and when all the batter was gone, I was greeted with a literal fish stick. Talk about scam. Waited 10 minutes at the drive through, finally got tired and drove up to the window. Very nice young lady in a low audible voice was asked by me “hello do I order up here?”. She said no the drive through. “I was there for 10 minutes, did you guys forget about me?”. I guess was her reply and I drove off.

Well after hearing Captain Ds opened in Savannah I was excited and now disappointed. After spending over $17 dollars on my meal I bought the deluxe sampler #1 French fries were cold and nasty.chicken was over cooked, shrimp lukewarm, fish was amazing. It’s like my meal sat waiting on the fish poor timing. Had no ice for my $ 2.89 small drink. Looks like I might have to drive to pooler for my Captain D’s fix.
