At our Winder, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.
Fast-food chain serving fried fish & shrimp combo meals along with gumbo & funnel cakes. Based on 637 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 3.9 stars. Price $

The food was just bad. Every food item was either not prepared to correct temperature or lacked flavor. Compound that with the building didn’t have the AC working added to a bad experience. The workers were trying very hard to accommodate but overall the experience was bad.

I hate to say it. But, this chain never quite produces food that looks like the pictures that you order from. So, to me at least there is always a little buyers remorse. Overall the staff is friendly and the food is pretty good when you need a tiny seafood fix. It is phenomenal to see that they have finally opened up their indoor dining room so people could sit down and eat – huge plus…

Went here today, and it was the BEST Captain D’s experience I’ve ever had! The service was fast, and the food was hot, fresh and not overcooked. The dining area was most clean, even though we had to get crumbs off of one seat of our booth. When leaving (on a Sunday) the staff even said, “Have a blessed day!” Considering the world we live in these days, that was nice to hear! Thank you for a wonderful lunch!

Green beans and fries were good, chicken and hush puppies were old.

The food was good once I seperate it from where it all fell together because of the way it was placed in the bag, ie on the container’s side. In the picture i had started to seperate the food before thinking to take a pic. My biggest problem and the reason for the 3 stars was the wait. I was in the drive through for at least half an hour. From placing my order to receiving it took 15 mintues (yes, I was watching the clock). The other 15 minutes was spent waiting to get to the menu to place my order. When I pulled up into the line I was behind the car at the box. There were cars in front of the one in front of me but that’s too long.

The Cole slaw and hush puppies are usually great, but they both tasted off. Not good.
