At our Madison, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

We just traveled by, and it’s the highest stars review restaurant in the neighborhood, so we decided to give it a try. The food was good. My husband liked his shrimp more than he thought he would. I like the fried dessert. The inside was nice and clean, and the service was nice and friendly.

Excellent food, my shrimp skewers were great and the fish was much thicker than I expected. Haven’t visited a Captain D’s in 20 years cuz I thought it was nasty food, but with an open mind, I found a place I’ll revisit. Employees were nice also. Thanks Much!! One small thing to say though…. There were a few flies in the place this Saturday.

I’ve never been here before and I wanted to try something different… Bad choice. I got the garlic shrimp basket.. The shrimp was itty bitty shrimp alot of breading. The fried okra was very bland.. It is what it is… I won’t try anything eles from there.

We visited this place on 05/27/2023 at about 7:40 pm for some fish. The place was mostly empty. Once we stepped up to order, the cashier only spoke after we spoke first. Then she proceeded to start texting on her cell phone at the register! She didn’t even ask us to give her a minute. She then picks up another phone and started talking to someone on the other line. She went into the kitchen and came back out and entered the kitchen again still talking on the phone. At this point, we decided to leave because of the horrible service. There seems to be a severe lack of standards at this restaurant for it’s employees.

I didn’t mean to leave 1 star. However, the owner nicely responded and said that my experience shouldn’t have been a 1 star experience. I tried to reply to explain why I left a low rating, but I couldn’t get it to send. I’m not angry or anything bc it seemed to be just a kid, probably his 1st job learning. But, I ordered a 3 piece spicy fish meal. It said it was about $10 for everything. I wanted to add extra fish. The way he rang it up somehow made my order right at $19.00. I didn’t get any extra sides, drinks, or anything. If I was going to pay double, I may as well just ordered the same order again. At least I would have gotten extra sides and a drink. Also, every time I visit this location, it takes longer than any other restaurant I’ve visited to get ppls orders and through the drive-through within a reasonable time. Anyway, I didn’t want to complain bc the kid was extremely nice, and you could tell he was trying. But, he seemed to be on his own. Regardless, times are hard for everyone, and I could have fed one of my 4 kids with that money. He’s on the right track, tho. Good kid. At least he’s working.

MANY orders were sent out incorrectly and it caused major delays in the rythm of things. The manager was rude and unprofessional. I spent 10 minutes waiting to order. Quatishay was the manager, I asked for her name and she immediately became defensive and aggressive. She needs training in customer service and clearly more help in the establishment. A worker from the kitchen came out to apologize and speak with me for her behavior. She is not yet leadership ready and currently setting a bad example for those under her.

Ordered a seafood sampler..fish..shrimp..chicken.. The small cashier girl was friendly..the other girl.kept.mean mugging me and soeaking in a forceful manner when I asked for missing condiments and a togo box.. food was old, shriveled and discolored…sat and ate a couple bites..felt uncomfortable being there with the mean mugging girl..so I left..then threw my food away at home.
