At our Hartwell, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I normally only eat “fast food” cause I’m on a fix income but sometime like to go to a fancy sit-down place so we figure since Hartwell has that big lake that a fish place would probally be a good idea and boy was it ever!! The fish was so good reminded me of when my granddaddy use to have a fish fry on labor day. I could tell it was cought fresh that day right from the lake. My wife got the shrimp and it filled her up. It is nice to eat off a real plate when you eat out. Worth every penny if you like fresh fish! Next time we pass thru heart county we will eat here again.

The employees and their attitudes are AWFUL!! They all yelled at each other to take our order, but instead we just stood there while they all turned each other down. Once we were able to order after standing there for five minutes (and being the only ones there), she had awful customer service and rolled her eyes the whole time. It took almost 20 minutes to get our food (again, we are the only ones ordering), and it tasted like trash. Will not ever visit this location again!

Just had the best experience at this Captain D’s. Everyone was extremely nice and went above and beyond to help us. We had a death in the family and needed a large order quick. They had our food ready when we arrived, were exceptionally nice and didn’t even complain when I had to add more food to the order. Every employee that was working on February 15th was so nice! They helped us carry the food out and I even got a hug from our cashier! I will definitely be back! Thank you all so much for being so kind!

I usually love this place but the other day when we ate there they didn’t get the order right. Then when we told them they looked at the receipt and she put it in wrong but yet over the intercom she said 5 piece butterfly..but they still didn’t fix it. I was very dissapointed. We love this place but if they can’t take an order right and charge those ridiculous prices then we won’t be back.

Food good but the wait is horrible at drive thru. Everytime I come on my lunch break it takes forever to pay then once I finally get to pay I have to wait another 10 15 minutes to get my food. I definitely will not come on my lunch break again sheesh

Best salmon I’ve had in months. Service was top-notch. The ladies behind the counter were so sweet. Plentiful portions with REAL food. I had the mixed grill, perfectly cooked. Corn on the cob was so good. I saved it for last and couldn’t eat the last couple of bites, and I’m so sad I didn’t have room.
