At our Hudson, NC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Best fast food fish restaurants in the area. Has a great lobster roll, but it’s only seasonal. Good crunches and one of the only restaurants in the area that offers corn on the cob. Food is best when eaten hot, so eating in their dinning room is recommended.

The Hudson Captain D’s is great!! The dining room is always clean and the servers are helpful. What’s more, for a quick service chain restaurant the seafood waaaay exceeded my expectations! Hot and flavorful and abundant portions . I’ve spent my whole adult life driving past Captain D’s restaurants assuming they were scudzy. Now that I actually tried this one, I can’t believe how wrong I was!

Capt. D’s is a decent place to eat, a lot of older people seem to know this. The service was very fast. By the time we found a seat in the crowded dining room, the girl hand delivered our meals. The conversations at the surrounding tables was amusing, ranging from someone having a heart attack to city politics. Overall this was an interesting place to visit.

We drive 35 miles one way to the Lenoir location. This location is always very good and consistent. Staff is friendly and polite. Service is excellent and we’ve never had a problem there after visiting several years.

We ate their for our anniversary. I got the fish/shrimp platter with fried okra and cole slaw. He got the 15 pc shrimp with fried okra and slaw. It was delicious, freshly cooked. Hushpuppies were fresh too. Plenty to eat and some to bring home. Will be going again..soon!
