At our Hurricane, WV location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Was very hospitable as soon as we walked in with a party of 7! It was 9pm and they closed at 10pm. 4th of July as well. Our food didn’t take long at all. Place is very clean. Close to interstate ramps & gasoline. Safe & clean. Our cashier was super accommodating & patient.

First off the food is great make sure your food is hot though. Service is mediocre. And as for the rest of it expect dirty conditions dirty tables dirty floors dirty windows and as for the entrance a very dirty door.

About what you’d expect from Captain D’s. Our ToGo order was accurate but a little slow.

I went to Captain D’s in Teays Valley Saturday and I was extremely impressed with the staff, they were really busy but everyone kept their cool and took care of all orders, even working with new employees it was a really good experience, will be going back soon.

I love Captain D’s food, but this place has really fallen on some hard times. My frequent visits have slowed to a ‘maybe next month’ affair due to order inaccuracies and overall downward drift in quality. The staff is almost always friendly, but they seem overworked which I feel is where most of the mistakes stem. Not a place to avoid, per se, but check your order for completeness and that it is well cooked before you drive away.

I don’t know how the food was because we were in the drive thru soooo long I cancelled my order and left. I stopped at the Cap’t D’s in Teays Valley Sunday evening about 6pm and there was only one cr head of me to order. After 3 minutes they finally took his order. 3 minutes is a long time to wait to order. Then when I got to the window they didn’t take my order for 2 minutes! After ordering and pulling up I noticed there were a total of 3 cars to get their food before me. That’s ok, not a big deal. I waited 17 minutes and only 2 cars had got their food and left. There was one car ahead of me so I tried to be patient even tho I had already been in their drive thru for 20 minutes. 6 minutes later the car in front of me STILL hadn’t got their food!!! I pulled away n cancelled my order and went to long John silver’s! 26 minutes in a drive thru and still didn’t get my food?!? Really??

The person taking order looked unclean long string hair and dirty sweatshirt. Service very slow 3 tables in dining room with people we were 2nd table. Waited 10 minutes for food. Food was fresh. Drive thru when we left had 6 cars backed up. Resturant has gone downhill.

My husband waited 35 minutes in the drive thru for our order to be wrong. The fish was barely cooked. It was gross!!!

15 hours after eating here I got gastroenteritis. I didn’t go anywhere else for 2 days. Of course it’s possible I could have gotten sick elsewhere, but the timing sure lines up. Maybe consider sanitation (including hand washing) if you want to run a restaurant. I will never be back.

Food was hot and fresh. The new spicy fish fillet was not very spicy though.
