At our Cross Lanes, WV location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Fish and chicken were scrumptious! The hushpuppies are fried just right and have the perfect crispness. Overall it is a great meal for fast food.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, which I thought was closed due to all the lights outside being off, I was promptly greeted at the speaker. And that’s where all the promptness ended. 27 minutes in a Drive-Thru with only me sitting in it. Food, extremely burnt and substandard, coleslaw all over Inside the Box on top of the okra, fried crabs which were still frozen in the middle and yet somehow almost burnt on the outside, macaroni and cheese that honestly taste like something a cafeteria would have made at school. Overcooked shrimp undercooked Hush Puppies overcooked okra burnt spicy fish, sounds like a great way to end a 14-hour shift at work. You will not be seeing my money again, and I really hope that the owner sees this and reaches out to me. If you choose not to, I completely understand that you are accepting of the substandard practices being performed at this restaurant.

This store is a joke…out of Mac and cheese, coleslaw and okra! Get home with meals and find out they gave old frozen burnt shrimp and as our piece of chicken was chicken nuggets …took 20 minutes in drive thru as well needs shut down

Never had a bad meal from here. Most always fast service and convenient location with plenty parking. Just use caution entering and exiting due to being at a major intersection.

Stopped by drive thru around 8pm. Order jalapeño peppers & kids Chicken meal. Waited for a minute but that to be expected when ordering food. Hot fresh & delicious.

Everything has been prepared fresh, hot, and as fast as you can expect from fried seafood. Staff are usually polite and quick. Interior is clean with the classic Captain D’s decorating.

We tried the new spicy batter dipped fish on our most recent visit. It was excellent. It has the perfect amount of spice and added a great level to the fish. I’d definitely recommend it. Also, if you haven’t tried the lobster rolls when they have them, they’re a must-try.

Protien portions are skimp, sides generous. Service was great. Parking lot needs repaired, but bit ot worry, your tires are safe. Prices are high, but overall I loved it. Room for improvement, but other than bankrupting me (not really) it was good.
