Went with family. Originally were going to dine at Red Lobster but we decided to try out Don’s. We each had different meals including an all you can eat special. Everything was phenomenal, to our surprise. We weren’t expecting the experience to beat out Red Lobster, although that’s exactly how we felt. The service was just as good as the food and I’m happy because they’re located closer to us anyway. One final note . . I love my steak rare and they cooked it to perfection. I’m pretty picky and usually send it back to be redone. Wasn’t necessary here. Definitely try them out.

Went to Captain Dons on Dec. 2015 for a night out with family and friends. The restaurant had only one other guest…you would think the service was great but it was far from being perfect. The meal took forever to arrive. The waitress was horrible and couldn’t remember what was ordered. Everything I pretty much ordered they didn’t have. When the waitress returned she was completely clueless as to what was on the menu and what was in any of the drinks. When she finally brought the meals it was not in proper order.The meal came and the salad came right after. When she returned to the table she brought meals without clearing out the table and making room. I ordered an raspberry tea and she brought it warm. The food was alright but the waitress was so clueless and slow. She definitely was not attentive!!!

Was there during this past summer. Undoubtedly among the best seafood to be had anywhere. $44/ayce with $5.00 extra for a lobster tail. Friend and I had it all and were given as much as we wanted for over an hour or so until we reached the saturation point. Waiter was exceptionally good. Oysters on shell were peerless, huge steamed shrimp, crab legs plentiful and meaty, scallops huge and melted in your mouth even good corn. Just read some other reviews and wonder what happened to others as our experience was perfect. We arrived around 4pm on a weekday afternoon, not many patrons then, and left around 6pm with dining room filling up. Maybe timing of day is important. Am thinking about driving 150 miles next week just to go back there.

Food is 3/10, if it’d come out hot it’d probably be an 8 but having to wait almost an hour for our food for a table of 2 at non-peak hours is ridiculous. Took 5 minutes to even be addressed/welcomed and offered drinks and it was dead in there. Last I checked a restaurant best practice was to at least greet your customer within 30-60 secs of being seated.The worst part is the service, attitude, and atmosphere was absolutely horrible. Ya just got the feeling that people hated their jobs (especially our waiter) and management didn’t care. To be quite frank I didn’t even see a manager to be found. My wife and I were sorely disappointed and the consistency of expectations seems to be quite different judging from the variety of reviews. The owners should probably get a handle on how their brand is represented at all hours of the week, not just at peak lunch and dinner times.

Service was very slow. Waited 15 min at the door for someone to even acknowledge me. Once seated waited another 25 min for a server. I had to get up and go find someone and ask to have my table waited on. The owner did not act too concerned. The food took forever to come. The place was not even packed so i really couldn’t figure out why things were so incredibly slow. Me and my family will not be returning. Very disappointed! The only good thing I can say about the place was the music in the background.

Went here last weekend was GREAT! Got the all you can eat , the crabs where perfect and a mixture of mediums and larges. One crab I got was huge! My daughter got the crab cakes and loved them they where just a perfect size. The desserts for the buffet where smaller than the all you can eat but I mean they where delicious. Server was wonderful young lady named Emily she was on it she kept us informed about food and how long it may be she was quick with refills and butter. Will be back

Tonight at Dons seafood was my worse experience ever and anywhere! The service was snail slow and the food was old, dry, and undercooked. We ordered the all you can eat buffet and they gave us a sheet that had options for us to order. When the food came out I noticed that items I selected was not on my tray. That is when I noticed that they had crossed off items I selected on my sheet with no explanation. The food which took forever to arrive was cold, old, and undercooked. Our waitress was sweaty and had poor hygiene. She mentioned that she forgot to bring us our crab crackers and we did not see them for like 15 minutes after our food arrived. I requested to speak with Don who was there because we had seen him. he took about 30minutes to come to address our concerns. When I started to express my issues he shrugged his sholders and said “I do not know what to tell you” most people would accept 50% off their bill.I told him we did not eat 45.00 worth fos food and he said take it or leave it. Soon after our second tray came out and my shrimp was undercooked and none of my clam shells were opened. Don blamed the waitress for everything. I will never eat there ever again and you should not eat there either he does not care at all!

Will never go back to this restaurant again. Staff was short handed and the manager did not help the only three servers who were running around trying to get drinks from bar, take orders, serve the food etc. The manager stood around and did nothing to help them. We had a party of 12 and once the manager was approached about the issues the coward hid in the back and we did not see him again. If he was the manager he should have been busting his butt to help the servers. Our waitress was very nice and was doing her best. After one from our group approached the manager he yelled at the waitress. This manager should be fired and maybe the help would show up for work. I do not recommend this place and give it zero stars. This place will probably be closed in a month with a manager that does nothing to help his staff out. POOR MANAGEMENT will not return.Funny had to put one star or else this won’t post!!!

Worst customer service experience of my life. Husband and I went for AYCE seafood. Service was slow, sat for at least 15 minutes before getting any service. A friend of the owner noticed we had been sitting a while and took our drink order then never returned. When we saw people who came in after us ordering we flagged down a server and finally a server was sent to our table. We asked for drinks ASAP and were told there was no ice. Drinks were brought after we had been at the table 25 minutes. We ordered several dishes which were brought out as they were ready. I got plain scallops (supposed to be in garlic butter) overcooked shrimp, overcooked corn. Very good crab legs and mac and cheese. I never got soup because there were no bowls. I asked to speak to a manager but was told she was tending bar. Very long wait for some dishes, some came quickly. I told my server and even a cook who came our that I was trying to enjoy my food but was disappointed that the best dish at AYCE seafood was mac and cheese. My husband ate a ton of crab legs which were good but took too long for refills. Finally the table next to us spoke to the owner and I asked to speak to him to offer my feedback. He was very defensive, made excuses about service backing up when it’s busy. (It was not that busy on a Sunday night) He brought out our server to confirm what I was saying (basically as if he did not believe me) and a cook who became upset and yelled at us for saying ribs were dry. He then said he would discount our meal and I said I am not looking for a discount. He walked away then came back saying 3 people came to talk to you and you said everything was fine. I explained again that no, some things were cooked well and very good but overall the meal and service were not great. He then said 3 people told him they heard us saying we just wanted a free meal. I never said this but I was mortified at being accused. My husband became upset and threw the bill at him and stormed out. The owner and several other staff members gathered outside and threatened to call the police while I waited to pay the bill still mortified. As my husband and I finally left the owner shouted at us “Now we have it figured out.” I have never been so disrespected by a business owner in my life. I offered feedback so he could have a chance to improve his business and be more successful with future customers. I will never return, and will make sure to spread the word to stay away from Captain Don’s!

Completely a waste of two hours. Not only did we sit for two hours I got my food cold then received my appetizer which was coconut shrimp that was chewy. As I start eating my cold food two a half hours into the wait my wife never got her order of crab legs, asked to speak to a manager but refused to talk to us. As we sat there watching everyone return there food the waiters were arguing infront of all of us so I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and eat frozen sea food itll be better for you
