This is a hidden gem! The exterior of the restaurant is not very appealing but the interior is designed very nicely. It’s very clean and has a cozy vibe. The customer service is nice but the food is what earns this place five stars. This is NOT your average diner food. The Greek waffle is a must to order!!! Very happy with this place!

My Mom came here once and told me it was so good and has great prices! I went in to get a menu and was immediately greeted by Ana. They have great artwork on the walls, table, booth and I think counter seating. Very warm and welcoming. I can’t wait to try it myself!

Pleasant atmosphere and staff. The portions are generous for the price. We mostly ordered the typical diner breakfast items as we had a craving for them. I definitely recommend this place if you’re in the mood for good diner food. May have some wait during busy times.

I was goofing around just looking at my old neighborhood 172 Sherman Ave when I decided to look a bit further, my old school Good Shepard [ 1951 -1959 ] Family moved to NJ. Anyway, my mom when she could afford it would take my brother and I to the old Capital restaurant and back then the food was great especially the burgers. Great to see this old landmark lasted in time and best wishes to the new owners.

A delicious remake of an old favorite! The new Capital Diner is a clean, charming, high-quality restaurant that serves yummy homemade food at reasonable prices. You won’t find the pageantry of brunch or designer cocktails here, just fluffy pancakes to die for; salads bursting with fresh, crunchy veggies; and hands down, the crunchiest, tastiest French fries in Inwood, maybe in the city. The prices are low to moderate, which belies the quality of the food. They could charge more. They just don’t. Stop by and welcome these peeps to the neighborhood by ordering yourself a short stack. You won’t be sorry.

This diner has changed its face and its owner recently. I never visited the old diner, but we decided to check out the brand new diner. The inside is very bright, clean, and cozy. They had some baked goods on the counter, such as muffins and bagels. We didn’t try them, but they looked pretty good.
