We enjoyed our food. Service was great, though we were the only people in there. Not very big 3-4 tables then a couple of chairs at the window and 2 tables o. the sidewalk. They try to use all the space they have available to them. We both ordered the Laburnum dog. I wanted to try the carrot dog, since it sounded so unique, but she said they were out, so I guess they hadn’t prepared any the night before, since we were the 1st customers of the day. Anyway the Lab dog was pretty tasty, pretty big, could not pick it up to eat do to its size and also the bottom was getting a tad soggy. Just used a fork and knife. They didn’t serve drinks, you got a from the cooler. Did look like they had a bar, so was a little confusing. So single can to drink, no refills unless you buy another cab. We also got an order of onion rings. Mostly they were pretty good, but there were a few that you could taste the uncooked batter. Overall was happy, looked like they had a good selection of burgers to try as well. I’d come back again, would like to try the carrot dog, so hopefully they will have them if I make it back.

Had a great first experience at Capital Burgers & Dogs. The front end and kitchen staff were super welcoming and had great attitudes. The Arthur Ashe Blvd smash burger wasn’t very crispy on the edges, but the burger was large, juicy, and cooked nicely. The onion rings had traditional batter, which is what I prefer, so I thought they were great. My partner had the Laburnum dog (chili cheese dog with other toppings) and he said the combination of all the toppings was absolutely delicious. It was filled so full, it had to be eaten with a fork and knife. The space is pretty small, but most of the orders were take-out while we were there. It’s not fancy, but if you’re looking for a solid burger at a decent price, this place is great. A burger, onion rings, chili dog, side of chili cheese fries, and 1 can of soda plus tax was ~$30.

I ordered The Broad Burger and tater tots with cheese. (I smushed the bun lifting it up to look!). It took us about 20 minutes to get our food, which was accurate to the quote we got when we ordered. We were the only customers dining inside but the carry out/door dash was constant.

This was our first time eating here and we would all go back for a quick bite if in the area again. Small place but big on taste. The Burgers and onion rings were really good!

Our first stop into this amazing burger restaurant. Located near the science museum, so perfect place to recharge after our science trip. Burgers were perfect. Salad with a burger patty (not on the menu but easily accommodated) was just what I needed. Definitely on our repeat list. Thanks Capital Burgers!

A true gem. Best smash burgers I’ve had in Richmond. We have actually been here 3 times in a short amount of time. Great service and the burgers are ready fast and are piping hot. Sorry no pictures but I will post them next time.

Had to duck in to grab a quick bite in between weekend events. Super friendly service, but my burger was excellent. Great crust on the beef, perfectly cooked. I also had a milkshake, which was also great. Maybe the fries are not perfect (I’m a crinkle cut cut person) but they were still really good. I’d do 4.5, but 5 is more accurate than 4 stars.

Went here this weekend excited to try after great reviews and advertisements I’ve seen. Burgers are nothing like advertised and can only order them well done. My burger was overall okay. I also ordered a corn dog that was cold inside. The onion rings I ordered weren’t crispy. The floors were sticky and the table had leftover crumbs on it from previous customers. It was dead when we walked in, so really no excuse to not wipe down a table. The chairs are small and uncomfortable and there is very limited space and seating here. Not sure where all these great reviews came from, but we probably will never go back. I do not give back reviews lightly because I try to support restaurants when we go out and often leave good reviews for places when we have a great experience.

Stopped in for a burger and hot dog after reading good reviews. Everything was excellent and service was very fast. Smashed patty was juicy with good flavor and the grilled Sabrett hot dog was done perfectly and served on a grilled potato roll. The hand cut fries were cooked properly and they were able to get one order crispy without over cooking the other.
