This is my first time in Arizona. I was looking forward to the authentic Mexican food and this place did not disappoint! I had tacos boraccho Plato and a papas street taco. My husband had tequila lime chicken burrito smothered in cheese sauce. The meat was seasoned perfectly. We also had the Mexican cornbread. It was so good, not too spicy. We highly recommend this place. The food is AMAZING. I am jealous of all you that live here and get to come here often We will be back for sure!

Great food. Great experience with really good tacos and nice people. They gave us free dessert for getting a drink out later. The street tacos were delicious and it came with delicious beans, rice, and cheese.

Because some restaurants still have staffing issues, I am a little more patient in some areas of service. My friend and I entered Cantina Gueros at 25315 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway in Peoria on a weekday afternoon and the place was moderately busy with at least one large party and several parties of four. It took approximately eight to ten minutes before a member of the restaurant staff came to the front to greet us and seat us. I have had longer waits for a table but this is the longest I’ve ever had where no one was manning the front entry. Now they say that good things come to those who wait so patience can pay off. We were finally seated and I’d like to note the interior is pleasant and I really liked the mural near the table where we sat. A server came by our table almost immediately and I was appreciative for her promptness and friendliness. I ordered a Watermelon Fresca. The refreshing drink was a good choice. Some other drinks also looked interesting such as Mexican coke and Jarrito’s Mexican soda. The menu is creative and colorful and despite so much on the menu, it’s easy to read. The server brought over chips and salsa. I’ve had salsa in so many restaurants but this is the darkest looking salsa ever. Would it be the hottest? I don’t want hot salsa. Mild is in my comfort zone and this was mild. I liked the salsa so much, I paid $8.00 to bring home salsa from Cantina Gueros. My wife would be happy. I asked the server about the salsa and she said that this is charred salsa which gives it a darkened appearance. I absolutely was sure I’d just ate the best salsa ever. For the meal, I ordered chicken enchiladas and my friend had cheese enchiladas. The meals came with rice, and other sides typical for a plate with enchiladas. Everything was great including the service. Cantina Gueros was excellent overall despite the problem at the beginning of the visit. Just a few minutes ago, my wife opened our refrigerator and reminded me that we bought chips at the store so let’s eat the chips with Cantina Gueros. She sure got my attention!

This place is great and we really enjoyed they’re outdoor section. It’s open to the bar and covered with plenty of shade.

Seated in bar area . Server immediate brought menus and took beverage order. Brought chips and salsa. Salsa different, dark, very good, not spicy hot. Guacamole ordered, and request to eliminate tomatoes and onions accommodated. Chunky and smooth . Very good. Saw that breakfast can be ordered all day, ordered chillequiles with carnitas. Made with corn tortillas, 3 eggs on top . Would have preferred the tortillas to be more crispy, they were soft , soggy. Though friend liked them soggy. The carnitas added was very good. Chimichanga and huevos poblanos that was ordered by others was reported to be very, very good. Birthday guest received fried ice cream, gratis, also served with cinnamon) sugar “chips” . Our server, Mary very good, attentive, friendly .

This was a great find, suggested by a very good friend here in the Valley. We really enjoyed the complimentary guacamole and salsa, and decided to try a very unusual appetizer….a spicy savoury watermelon “salad”, which was delicious. Highly recommend trying this refreshing dish. We opted for the lunch special of 2 street tacos with beans and rice. Good value, and tasty choices. I tried the grilled shrimp for one taco and al pastor for the other. The whole meal was delicious and I’d be happy to go back to try other dishes. Service was good and the restaurant wasn’t overly busy when we chose to have lunch around 1:30 on a weekday.

The fish street tacos were good, not a lot of extra stuff on them. Husband ate the Chimichanga and said it was alright. Their churros though were absolutely delicious!

Sat at the bar tonight with the bartender Maddie. This is our 3rd time having her as our server. Not only is she super friendly and attentive but she remembered our drinks from last time. To top it off she introduced us to a cheese crisp “Maddie’s Way” and it is BY FAR the best thing I’ve eaten there! We will be back and definitely will ask for her again. Thanks Maddie!

Super friendly staff. There was a mix-up in the kitchen which resulted in a significant delay in half of our meal. However, the manager stepped in and did a terrific job making things right for us. We had more time to enjoy our drinks (delicious and beautifully made), so all was well. Things won’t always go perfectly. How a team responds in situations like this speaks volumes. We are sold on Cantina Gueros and their management team. We will definitely be back! Food was excellent, as always.
