Had an amazing dinner here during our stay at the resort. Went with the chefs 6 course tasting menu. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients. All the dishes were full of flavour. Seafood was fresh, cooked perfectly and many layers of flavours. Overall the best meal we had on the island. Would highly recommend. Only regret is we didn’t have get a chance to go back for a second meal during our stay but will definitely be back.

Had my girlfriend’s birthday dinner (late arrival, 8pm-ish) and a second dinner at sunset a few days later here. 5-stars on all fronts, from the delicious food to the wonderful hospitality and the super knowledgeable sommelier (and corresponding sake and wine list). They also make a consistently great old fashioned cocktail. We got the best seat in the house watching the beautiful sunset.

If you are looking for a romantic dinner spot with a view, look no further! This was absolutely the most incredible sunset view of our trip! We were staying at the Fairmont orchid nearby and were able to get dinner reservations here one night. We did the chef’s six course dinner and while it was pricey, it was such a fun experience and a way to try new dishes. I would definitely recommend eating here during your time on the big island!!

My spouse and I ventured to this exquisite location to commemorate our nine-year anniversary. The surroundings were breathtakingly magnificent. We indulged in a sumptuous six-course culinary experience, yet even after its conclusion, our appetites remained voracious. While the ambiance and cuisine were undeniably impressive, I find myself contemplating whether or not I would choose to revisit this establishment in the future.

We did the chef’s tasting and it was good, but honestly not spectacular. The sunset atmosphere was outstanding. The food all felt very fresh, but there was nothing particularly wowing about it to be honest. Most of it was good, but nothing mind blowing. Everything felt safe, right down the middle, not overly different or flavorful. There were a couple of courses that were exceptions (like the wagyu add-on), but majority were more in the “ok” realm (a negative exception was dessert which was bad to the point of being inedible). And that’s fine, not every restaurant has to be spectacular! However, for a bill that was nearly $600 after tip, I frankly expect spectacular. We ended up at Merriman’s the following night which lacks the atmosphere, but was a vastly superior chef’s tasting for less than half the cost.

CanoeHouse is nestled on the Mauna Lani Resort property. Perched within 50 feet or less from the beach, we set while savoring succulent ceviche. While adding vitamin D to our daily nutrition, we embraced the breathtaking mountain views. It was a spiritual moment for us. As the sun kissed our cheeks, it reminded us of our late mom’s kiss. Service was decent at times. However, once you receive waitstaff’s attention, the entire experience is elevated.

Hi I’m DA and today was my 11th birthday. The food was great especially the lobster tempura and everyone was really nice. They even put a candle in my cake without us even asking. You could see the sunset and it was a really great place.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience! We would happily return again. We started with oysters as an appetizer, which were delicious. I had the kampachi entree while my wife had the scallops, both were amazing. I don’t normally eat skin on the fish but this one was too good to pass up. Their version of the Mai Thai was quite tasty. Overall, outstanding and highly recommended.

The setting is lovely, right on the beach. Service was attentive and friendly. They ask about and accommodate dietary restrictions. They have a separate vegitarian menu so ask for it if you need it. Food was creative but not to the point of being weird. Everything was tasty. One of the most positive resturant experiences I’ve had in a while.
