The food was amazing and the history of the family’s recipes’ was fascinating! We loved the lasagna with rich meat sauce perfectly balanced with cheeses and noodles – best we’ve had! The stromboli was excellent and a favorite of our family. The owner, Donny, took the time to share his family story – starting with his immigrant Italian grandparents from Sicily. If you are looking for great authentic Italian take-out food, this is your place!

Absolutely amazing I had lunch here on Friday and was highly impressed. So much so that after the game on Sunday I returned. The time was 8:57pm and I didnt think we were going to be able to order, little did I know they would go above and beyond and stay late to fulfil my order. Great people here I highly recommend

I drove from Bloomfield to the south side to pickup a Italian hoagie lettuce tomato and onion ( I specifically said no Italian seasoning) I want mayo instead, well waited a good half hour for it . I got it drove back to Bloomfield. He gave me a Italian hoagie lettuce tomato onion and Italian dressing. Then I tried calling the pizza shop, and they kept hanging up on me, what the heck really. It wasn’t even busy when I went I went in, this guy can’t make a simple Italian hoagie. My wife can’t have Italian dressing. Ron C

Provided the wrong items. Crab & shrimp mushrooms were correct, but the crab & lobster pasta was ravioli??? Portions were small and taste was subpar at best. Will never order from here again.

I’ve been living in Pittsburgh for 5 years and have struggled to find pizza I really enjoy (originally from Buffalo, NY). Rainy day so I decided to try this place out right near me. Ordered on slice but the delivery driver cancelled or something and they were closing. So the owner Don called me up and offered to deliver the pizza to me himself. No exaggeration this is by far the best pizza I’ve had in pgh to date. If you have not tried it yet give it a go. Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Donnie is amazing. I ordered take out instead of delivery by accident. He called to see why I had not picked my food up, I told him I thought I ordered delivery and he delivered it anyway. I love their pizza, perfect dough, amount of sauce and cheese. The stuffed mushrooms are amazing and the garlic mayo on the steak hoagie was different than what I was used too, made it delicious. I can’t wait to try the pastas. My father was really impressed by the lasagna.

Last night we tried Cancilla’s for the first time. It’s a small, family-owned business. The walls of the establishment are covered with family photos. We were greeted by one of the owners who told us about the people in the pictures and the inspiration for the business. The chef brought us our food order and talked to us about the food and the upcoming specials. This was more than a meal, it was an experience. The Spicy Calabrese pizza was amazing. We can’t wait to try more of their menu!
