We got the special ‘Shrimp Chowder’ to share as an appetizer. Wow, it was so delicious and hearty. The restaurant is very close to the Carl Sandburg home. Tawnee had the classic burger and I had the curry chicken salad sandwich each with the rosemary fries. The rosemary fries were okay but not our favorite. The Carolina Sweet and ranch sauces for the fries were great. We enjoyed our sandwiches, but I probably would go for a burger instead of the curry chicken. We would eat here again especially for the shrimp chowder.

Great place for great food. Not stuffy or caught up in formality but food is worthy of such a place. Service was so genuine and hospitable.

Got the classic cheeseburger and it was good, somewhat expensive for what you get so it wouldn’t be a place that I would frequent often but it was enjoyable. I would come back again when in the area however It’s not something I would go out of my way for but I’m glad that I got to try it.

I’m not a professional foodie, but our lunches were not that great and somewhat overpriced.

Had an excellent casual dining experience here recently. Interesting wines, appetizers and dinner items available. Friendly, knowledgeable server gave super recommendations for all courses. House-made key lime pie was a superb ending. Campfire Grill was worth the wait and we look forward to returning soon!

The atmosphere is great. My salad was delicious. I’ll definitely come back soon! Our group had two burger orders where the temperature was way off from what was ordered. When the staff was notified, they both offered to make new burgers, and when that was declined because of time, gave gift cards to both people whose orders were affected. It’s more important to me how a restaurant deals with a mistake, than the fact that they made it.

I’m basing this review on a meal my wife and I had last night (7/25). We have eaten there in the past and the food as always been excellent. Since past experiences were great, we were excited to try the Tuesday special, fried chicken. It was the worst fried chicken we have ever had at a restaurant. It was overcooked and very bland. It also seemed it was cooked earlier and was sitting under a warmer. When served, the chicken was cold. We will return, but will certainly never order chicken again.

5/9 Stopping in after hiking Sandburg has become a fun habit but today they outdid themselves with the biggest pieces of grilled chicken I’ve ever seen

The burnt ends and the chicken appetizer were the best items we got but the entrees were good to. Outdoor seating and dog friendly atmosphere, my flank steak had a bit too much garlic but good nonetheless.

Campfire Grill has improved so much since it first opened! Everyone is extremely friendly. I like the meatloaf and the salads are large and fresh. I’ve had issues getting a salad before my dinner. It either comes with the dinner or doesn’t come at all! As a result, I’ve just stopped ordering salad.
