We ordered 2 burrito’s from the food truck at Hatchet Brewery in Southern Pines and were glad we didn’t look at the reviews before hand! The food was Delicious! And the amount for your money was worth it! It was filling and flavorful. Some of the rice was crispy fried-which gave it crunch. The home-made pineapple salsa was not too sweet and had just the right spice.

These guys are great. I loved the Taco salad Carne. Check then out around town but especially at Bright Light Brewery. The flavor was great and the service was awesome. They let you know when your order is ready via text and can tap to pay.

Bought 2 chicken and cheese quesadillas. Both had foreign objects in them. One looked like a Clorox wipe and in the other there was some type of paper. Don’t think I’ll be trying them again.

The name is confusing, “California” taco typically represents fresh ingredients and healthy alternatives. This food truck was taco bell on wheels. Our order took 25 plus minutes for crock pot meat. The lady who took our order and phone number said she would text us when the food was ready but we watched her outside the truck having conversations on her phone while the brewery was slow and people impatiently waited for their order. It was edible but not worth the price.

We enjoyed these guys the first time we had them over the summer, so we went back. They were out of a kind of meat we wanted. Now, it wasn’t late into the night and the bar they were at wasn’t busy, but who knows; things happen. We were flexible. Went to find them another time….same thing….out of a meat. They weren’t particularly nice in telling us, so we walked away. We decided to give them one more try, and to our luck, they had all the meat…but not the taco bowl. The truck had just gotten there….already out? The guys weren’t very nice again. But, that’s okay, we both had a rice bowl, so that was fine. Until it wasn’t….we both got VIOLENTLY ill within 90 minutes of consuming the food. No doubt it was food poisoning. I really wanted to like these guys, but 3rd strike….and for it to be because food poisoning….is enough for me to never return.

The food was excellent, the owner friendly. But I left a cash tip, he never provided my receipt to sign a tip on, then he tipped himself an additional two dollars on my card without my authorization. This is after I tipped IN CASH. While the food is good, it’s not worth having someone decide to tip themselves after I already gave them one. Frustrating.

The lady who took my order told me total was $11 when the food was listed as $9. When I asked her why is it over $9 and she told me it was tax… which made no sense that tax is over 20%.. but I didnt want to make a deal out of $2 so i just paid. Lady charged differently to my friend who paid with card and charged him the appropriate amount.
