They definitely do not shy away from spices, too spicy for my husband though buy I like it. We got the 2 quarter chicken (a lil on the dry side) with potato salad and jambalaya and they were good and tingly. Chicken sandwich was packaged really well and assembled in a way that’s great for picture!

I just discovered this cafe about six weeks ago, and I have been at least three times already. The food is absolutely delicious! Authentic Cajun cuisine is served, and the menu is plentiful. So far, I’ve had the catfish, red beans and rice, and red snapper. Everything is perfectly seasoned, and I can’t wait to try the gumbo and hot wings! I highly recommend Cajun Country Cafe!

Had the shrimp Po’Boy and was very happy with it. Well fried shrimp, fresh bread and good spread. Coming back to try the chicken and sides, can’t wait to try their collard greens and jalapeño hush puppies. Very friendly people running it too, always helps. Was feeling a bit moody, but the good food and friendliness helped brighten the day.

The owner moved around like a fire fly cooking and prepping, that’s when I knew the food was going to be good. I got the catfish dinner. It was delicious, and the potato salad was amazing. Very friendly staff. Real down to earth.

Food was good when I first started going there. But like every other food place in Oxnard, once they got more of a crowd the food is now trash. Rushed together, weird tasting, and bland. Taste like food from Oxnard not soul food. Disappointing.

Catfish was crispy and soft with excellent flavor. Jambalaya was spicy, hot and tasty. Candied yams were the real dessert, a very nice treat. Great, friendly service and quick to put it on the table, it’s everything I wanted.

Got the fish plate, and the fish was ok but the sides was not, the greens was dry with no seasoning, but thought ill give them a second chance and I ordered the Trukey Burger and fries get it simple this time all though the food was better this time the wait was crazy I was told it would be ready in 20mins got there 30mins later and my food wasn’t ready and he had just started while I was sitting there so had to wait another 30 to 40 minutes.
