We booked for Valentine’s Day – which is probably one of their busiest days.

Food and service were excellent. My wife and just ordered off the soup, salad, and starters menu at our first visit, but we’ll definitely return to try the entrees the next time.

I’ve been going here for years, but last Friday will be the last time for a long time. Our waiter was either over worked or just not attentive. I’m not sure which. My wife and I ordered our steak cooked medium. I think of medium as pink, but not bloody in the center. Ours were dark gray, over cooked and tough. That in itself is correctable, but our waiter was nowhere to be found. We sat there waiting to tell him. We eat the vegetables and fries and finally started eating the meat. Our server never came by to asked how the food was. When he finally come by he asked if we wanted to take the leftovers. I showed him the meat was over cooked and he didn’t say anything. Not even that he was sorry. That’s not what I expected from a $170 meal. And by the way, their fixed fare meal went from $40 two weeks ago to $48. Poor service, & poor food!

Lovely French ambiance! The menu is pretty small but it has most of what you’d expect to see on the menu of a French restaurant.

Comment et pourquoi?! I literally work a stone’s throw from this place and never knew it was there. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch from start to finish! The staff is ultra professional and attentive, clearly working as a beehive of energy and teamwork. Jason, our server, who has a delightful “radio voice” I might add, maintained the perfect balance between providing great service and allowing us “space” to visit. He’s awesome. The crusty bread served at the start was delicious. When I ordered “only” French onion soup and a Caesar salad combo, I was not expecting such a treat! The soup had a perfectly baked ultra-full-flavor cheesy topping with a nicely salted broth with the expected croutons and onions within. So good! The Caesar had just the right amount of anchovy-based dressing that was soooo good, tossed with croutons and grated slices of parmesan. It doesn’t get better than that! Of course, how could we leave without having dessert? I had creme brulee that had a touch of cinnamon. It had a nicely crisped topping with a beautiful custard below. Delicious! My friend’s flourless chocolate cake reportedly was equally good. Thank you for a sweet lunch with my good friend, Cafe P. We will be back very soon!

Food was very good and the selection is what you would expect for a restaurant of this caliber. Unfortunately, the service was not what was expected, our waitress seemed unhappy to be there and aggravated when we asked questions. For something we looked forward to all week it didn’t meet expectations.

We always enjoy Cafe Provencal when visiting family in Kirkwood. It has become a family tradition to dine together here, and to enjoy superb fare, great service and the lovely atmosphere. Never disappoints!

Fine dining at its finest. Delicious food from a simple menu with attentive staff. They’re not snooty and you don’t have to order in French – call it chicken and mushrooms, they do! Reservations are DEFINITELY recommended.

Very reasonable priced French restaurant in town. I like its 3-course combo where you can choose any 3 courses form the menu (appetizer, salad, main course, and desert) for only 36 dollars. Also it doesn’t have any dress code which I like it:) it can be crowded so having a reservation is recommended.
