I place a call in order at 12:30 she explained to me they were out of pork chops and black-eyed peas which was fine I don’t eat pork I then ordered fried chicken breast and sweet potato casserole and dressing when I arrived she said they didn’t have anymore sweet potato casserole which she could’ve told me over the phone but the chicken was bland I didn’t enjoy it

The food is good. I like going when I need a quick meal. Recommended if you need a takeout option. Inside service is good too, just not my usual. They are super sweet and always have a smile. Highly recommend if you are looking for good home cooked food in downtown Columbus.

Every time I place a to-go order, they ALWAYS mess up something on the order. Great food but the service absolutely stinks.

They had a party of 30 in the back dining room. We waited almost an hour before someone came to tell us why our food was taking so long. It’s nice that the rolls are fresh, but would have been nicer if they explained why it took so long to get a chicken salad sandwich and a meatloaf special. An hour and a half is way to long to wait for food.

We have patronized this cafe before with no problems. However, (two of us) waited over an hour for our food while everyone around us, who had arrived long after us, was served their food. We continued to ask about our food & was told they would check on it. We finally gave up waiting & left. I told the waitress on the way out that we were leaving because we had waited over an hr while others around us received their food. She replied “arrogantly”, “Well, everyone else has been waiting an hour.” We knew that NOT to be true. It wasn’t just the wait…it was the attitude of the waitress. We’re not going back!

Just had lunch there and it was okay but nothing stood out as exceptional. Not the best catfish. Hushpuppies were good. Mac and cheese was okay, potato salad okay. A filling meal, didn’t go away hungry. The Carmel pecan bar was average. Not bad but we wont hurry back.

The burger while fantastic was about he only great thing about Cafe on Main. All the other food we had was exceptionally bland. The plate specials they served for lunch were completely sold out by 1230 and they only opened at 11. Our waitress was unfortunately dreadful. Never brought what we asked for and kept stopping to chat with another table. So if you’re looking for a good burger and aren’t particular about service this is the place for you.
