Cafe Madeleine is a French restaurant & cafe with two locations in San Diego, CA inspired by the sidewalk street cafes in France. From the sidewalk chairs to the mural of Toulouse-Lautrec-like decorative painting on the Juniper Street side of the building done by Alexandra Pastorino, a French artist now living in Los Angeles. The art nouveau style of the cafe, outside tables and crimson umbrellas lining the sidewalk, complete an ambiance fit for Paris, France.

The quiche was the moist moist delicious I’ve ever had! My daughter and I shared two breakfasts. The potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Really, really good bacon too. The atmosphere makes you feel so at home. Love the mint/lemon water.

Great atmosphere in this tiny café with it’s tables, chairs, umbrellas, and lively color, but the prices are high (even for a Biden economy) and the service is unsmiling and indifferent.

Smoked salmon toast was honestly and easily a 10/10! Hibiscus tea was very lightly sweetened which is good because that means I can get some dessert after. I love the aesthetic and the street seating because really reminds me of Europe. Came around noon on a Friday and food was made very quickly. Located in a cute area! Found it because there’s a hair salon I went to right next door (and that I found because there’s a target nearby!)

Probably the best quiche I’ve ever eaten. I had the ham and Swiss and hubby had the goat cheese, spinach, and mushroom. Very tasty and bursting with flavor! The only downside is that the breakfast potatoes could have used some salt and oil, as they were a bit bland and dry. However, service was exceptional, and the dining area was so cozy and intimate. Try the iced tea! Such a delicate fruity/floral flavor; super refreshing. Will be back!

This cute little place is great. The food is delicious, and the portions are just the perfect size. The menu is kind of limited but with enough choices for every taste. My only issue is the size of the place and the lack of shade for the tables outside. The service was good considering they only had 2 waiters on duty (that I could identify), and the place was pretty full. It’s definitely a place to visit with your partner or a couple of friends, not too family-friendly due to size and table arrangements. Other than that, if you’re looking for a yummy option or a quick bite, this is the place.

Café Madeline quickly became a regular morning stop for us on our recent trip to San Diego. Phenomenal coffee (the cold brew!), crepes, and baked goods. You really feel like you’ve stepped into a European cafe. The staff were friendly and attentive. Vegetarian crepe was great, also don’t pass up the quiche! One of the best I’ve had in the US.

This little French cafe is one of my favorite hidden gems in South Park. We love grabbing breakfast and coffee there on a beautiful sunny morning. They have nice covered outdoor seating just a block off the main strip on Fern. The entire menu is wonderful, but I definitely recommend anything that’s on a croissant + a crepe.
