Nice to find a local spot that does a good shrimp & grits lunch. Not too much and not too little. Great flavors and atmosphere, albeit it is 90s and humid south GA outside, inside it is cool and cozy with good food. Will be back to try something with crawfish

The service is exceptional. The food is flavorful and filling. Seasoned perfectly without excessive heat. We started with the orka appetizer. My wife enjoyed the beans and rice with sausage. I got the jambalaya with chicken and sausage. Finished with beignets. Highly recommend!

I am very upset and disappointed with the service that I received from Cafe Le Rue. My son-in-law chosen this establishment to celebrate my daughter’s 31st birthday. Soon as we set down the server had a terrible attitude. She didn’t have a pleasant demeanor. She looked angry and stand offish. Now they posted online that the business close at 8 so she might have been upset because we came in a little after 7pm. Instead of notifying us that they would be closing soon and kitchen is no longer taking orders, she take our order with an attitude. She brought out food that wasn’t fit to eat. They proclaim to prepare Cajun cuisine but my Shrimp and Crawfish Étouffée wasn’t no where close to Cajun. It had so much cayenne pepper that I couldn’t eat it. There wasn’t any crawfish in it. I am sooo mad. I don’t know if this is a franchise but if they are someone need to take a look at their business. If they treat everyone like they treated us they will be going out of business soon.

Saw them on Facebook and the food looked delicious. Finally got to go there and it taste as good as it looks. The cook even saw us leaving and came out to ask if we enjoyed the food. I love good customer service. I will be going back.

The food was good but its very misleading to call this brunch. They added eggs to their regular menue items and slapped the word brunch in front of the name. I ordered the fried green tomato Po Boy and my wife ordered the shrimp and grits “with eggs”.We had mimosas that were fine nothing special and they only served them with orange juice. The star of the show in my opinion was the Hush puppies. They were perfectly cooked with a small amount of corn kernals inside. They were well seasoned with a touch of spice. Crispy on the outside warch and chewy on the inside. The cayenne ranch suace they paired along side it is fantastic.

I’ve been wanting to review this place for awhile as a Louisiana native. When I first walked in, it was much smaller than expected. As soon as you walk in, you are right up on other customers, so it’s a bit awkward. I ordered the seafood shrimp and sausage gumbo. It didn’t come with any sides such as a garlic bread or crackers. The taste of the gumbo was underwhelming and the rice wasn’t all the way done. Gumbo should be a soup mix. This was a rice mix with shrimp on top. There wasn’t really any flavor to the dish and the seasoning was also inconsistent and lack there of. Definitely not what I expected from a restaurant that is set to imitate some of New Orleans finest dishes. My mom ordered a coke, which came out of a coke can and there was tvs in the restaurant, giving it more of a sports bar feel. I’ve been meaning to review and critique this place for awhile but the experience wasn’t a memorable one. Also, the waiter kept forgetting to bring my mom a coke refill, over three times.

Atmosphere is DEFINITELY new Orleans vibe. I love it. It’s VERY chill and peaceful in the building. The menu is straight to the point and I ordered corn hush puppies, Mardi Gras pasta, and Beignets. The hush puppies are good, they taste like corn nuggets more so than a hush puppy. The Mardi gras pasta is SO well seasoned that you don’t have to add anything to it. It’s VERY WELL MADE. Guys the Beignets!!! Are to die for. Perfectly made I must say. My husband ordered the triple sampler which is a pick 3 entree sampler. He chose the jambalaya, seafood gumbo, and butter rice with sausage. I tasted all 3 of his and I must say these ppl can cook! The spices in it are the bomb it tastes so good.

First and only visit. We looked at menu online and picked our choices for dinner. Very few places to squeeze into to sit. We were handed simple menu’s that did not include our online choices. Server said this happens a lot. Parking was bad. We had to park in empty lot next door! Owner never came to apologize or explain! We would have spent $50.- $60. for our dinner. Only gave one star because when I didn’t want to leave any stars…it would not accept my

We were in Columbus for a 3 day convention. We found Cafe LA Rue our first night there and enjoyed it so much that we dined there every night that we were in town. It has great atmosphere, great wait staff, and the food was outstanding and authentic Cajun food. We especially enjoyed the etoffee and the shrimp poboys. Looking forward to coming back next summer.

The shrimp and sausage with cheese grits was DELICIOUS!!! Came out super hot and fresh and service was so nice and attentive! They even had a kids menu for our baby where he could eat smaller portions of the Cajun food we had. Overall delicious!! Also affordable as each plate was under $20. Our family of 3 ate for under $50 at dinner time.
