Absolutely gem of a place. A hidden part of new york. I would recommend this place over any fancy smancy restaurant in nyc. It’s amazing. The food has so much flavor and spicy. The vegetable momos are to die for. The people working here are so sweet and the service is impeccable. I would definitely recommend to a friend. It’s not white washed at all and feels totally authentic. Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed

We had heard about Cafe Himalaya and decided to give it a try. I was worried that we might have to wait since the place is small and popular. But to our surprise, we were seated quickly without any wait. The restaurant has an authentic feel to it. We started with beef dumplings, which were really tasty. For the main course, I ordered Shapta and my wife had the Gyathuk Ngopa. Both dishes were delicious and not too spicy. I recommend trying the Lassi too, as it helps with the spiciness of the food. Overall, Cafe Himalaya exceeded our expectations, and I highly recommend giving it a visit.

The food at this small unassuming restaurant is DELICIOUS! If you’re looking for a healthy and hearty meal after spending a little too much money shopping in SoHo, then this is it. The Sha Momo (beef dumplings) are a must. The hot sauce it comes with is quite spicy, but so flavorful and addictive. Cool your tongue with some Lassi or Deysee (rice pudding with yogurt, raisins and strawberries). The restaurant was packed on this Friday evening with people waiting for tables. Try to go before 7pm on busy nights.

Good prices. standard portions and menu with lots of options to try Tíbetan food. We had beef momos, chicken curry with rice and black Chana masala salad for starters. Good.

Rare Tibetan food with a very good price. I haven’t tried Tibetan food even I’m a Chinese. The food taste like home cooked. I’d recommend the dumplings, which you can get half beef and half chicken, and the Tibentan tea with butter and salt.

Incredible customer service – the nicest humans on planet earth to be honest. I loved stopping in for a quick bite and highly recommend this location. The menus are extensive and easy to read with popular recommendations up on the chalk board. I tried the Sha Momo (pan fried dumplings – I chose beef) which were AMAZING – and then also Gyathuk Takpa. The Gyathuk Takpa was crispy fried noodles and I added shrimp. Both dishes were amazing but the Sha Momo I will definitely order again and again. The crispy noodles were great and my favorite part was the texture.

Simply Amazing! It is a tight crowded space, the service is fast and nice. Got the veg (Tsel) Momos pan fried, they tasted very different and nice with the red sauce. Also got the chicken curry (Chasha Shamdey), that was very simple and soothing, just enough tangy and not too spicy. It was great and light with the rice.

It was incredibly difficult for me to make a choice of what to get because everything sounded amazing! I’m still dreaming about those pan fried potato dumplings. The tofu and vegetable curry with bean thread noodles was phenomenal as was a crispy noodle dish we also got. Beautiful flavors and hearty portions at great prices.

A no fuss veg/non-veg Tibetan restaurant that keeps it real. I’m not a vegetarian but only ordered their vegetarian dishes and all were satisfactory.
