Thursday night visit. Not busy. Attentive staff, Owners family came by to greet our 9 month old. Big lag between appetizer and main course (they admit to small kitchen) but all food items were very good or excellent when they arrived.

Star, thank you for your incredible service tonight to celebrate my birthday. It was outstanding. My water was always filled, she was so sweet & the restaurant was VERY clean. I loved it inside. It was adorable. The food was outstanding! The Mac & cheese- yum. The sausage was so good. What a great 1st experience! Incredible.

This may very well be my favorite restaurant in D.C, I always make sure to stop in when I’m in town! Cafe Berlin dishes incredibly hardy German food with big flavor. They also offer some great beer selections. The inside of the restaurant is very rustic and cozy, and in the summer, there is gorgeous patio seating out front.

Delicious, traditional German food. Great portions and quality service.

Local gem run by lovely couple who have weathered the COVID storm w ease and grace. The experience has made them solid in every degree of fine dining experience. Amongst the many specialties are the daily specials and dessert delights. We enjoy this institution sporadically, each time wanting to come more often. I’m not generally a fan of heavier food, but this a place that does it well. The flavors are contained in just the right places, delicately plated, cooked precisely, served proudly. As I said, this place is a gem.

I’ve been to Germany several times and visit German restaurants around the states as I travel. Atmosphere was the most authentic to Germany I have seen. The outdoor patio was perfect for lunch and a beer and felt like I was back in Germany. The food was excellent as well. I did a sausage platter with spaetzle and sauerkraut and enjoyed everything on the plate. Beer selection is good and prices are very reasonable for being in a large city. I also did the Eiskaffee with Jagermeister for dessert which was also very good. I highly recommend a visit to Cafe Berlin if you are ever in DC. I know I will return on my next trip here!

I grew up going to Germany in the summers and the food here is exactly what I wanted it to be. Get the apple strudel, but be sure to place the order with your entrees so they have time to prepare it. I really loved the kasespaetzle. 10/10 recommend.

Very good food. The pretzel appetizer was delish. The schnitzel was perfectly cooked and very good. Apple strudel…chefs kiss! Service is very good. Certainly will be back next time I’m in DC.

Incredibly delicious and authentic German cuisine. Definitely have drinks and/or dinner here anytime you’re in the area. Its the best German food you can find in DC and is a real gem.

Love this cozy little restaurant and delicious comfort food. The service is always excellent! Tim is amazing at the bar and Astrea in the dining room is a delight. Last time there I had the halibut and still thinking about it
