I don’t know how to describe my experience at the Cactus Room other than it’s a scam. Bob, the owner, went on and on about his dessert menu. He said all of the pies were made that morning, and his favorite, apple pie, was his grandmothers recipe. Each slice of pie cost about $9, which is steep, but I was willing to pay after the raved about his homemade pies. When we got the pies they were Marie Calendar pies (we saw boxes in the fridge while leaving the restaurant). He just adds tons of whipped cream and powdered sugar on top to ensure the desserts are unrecognizable. Additionally we ordered bobs famous buffalo burgers. He went on and on about how they were locally sources and cooked to perfection. After trying the burgers I am highly skeptical. Also he didn’t let us put ketchup on the burgers or fries????? Finally, because this restaurant is also an antique store (???) I noticed a turquoise ring that I really liked and thought was absolutely beautiful. Bob PROMISED me the turquoise was real and vintage and the 90% of profits go back to the native community. I spent $90 on the ring only to discover later that it’s a fake. Quite honestly I feel robbed.

Bob is a fantastic host who passionately serves delicious food. The salad was fresh and tasty. The bison burgers are exquisite. They really pay attention to ingredients and cooking style. The dessert was delicious as well.

Small town, down home dining at its finest. This place is a gem, and everyone passing through Virgin,UT needs to stop here for dinner. Tried the famous Buffalo Burger and was not disappointed. No fancy frills, sauces, or add-ons. Just a perfectly grilled, high-quality burger. DO NOT leave without trying the pie. They’ve got several to choose from, so there is something for everyone. We tried the double crusted apple pie with vanilla ice cream. OUTSTANDING. Bob is quite the character, probably the nicest guy you’ll ever meet, and he’ll make you feel right at home.

AMAZING! First off, Bob and Destiny were SO welcoming and friendly, he is the best server/COOK ever and he really killed it in every way. The food was so melt in your mouth good, both the bison and wagyu burgers are to die for. They were made so fresh so it did take a couple minutes, but it was definitely worth the wait. The pies were also killer. All hand made by Bob and Eric, they couldn’t have done better (my fav was the peanut butter pie). If I’ve ever near the town again, I will definitely be back!

SO and I split a buffalo burger and a “wagyu” burger – both were great but the buffalo burger was the winner. His homemade desserts were excellent as well. Mountain Dew was served in a decanter – the classiest Mountain Dew presentation I’ve ever had.

Where to begin…Bob is awesome, super friendly and fun! The restaurant is all charm and character, with an amazing collection of Native American art (jewelry, pottery, textiles, paintings, etc) for sale. But the Buffalo Burger…OH MY…juicy and FULL of flavor…best ever!!!

Amazing!!! The buffalo burgers were the best we’ve ever had. Bob was our server, and not long after we arrived, we decided that we love Bob. He provided a deck of playing cards so that we’d interact with each other as opposed to playing on our phones, which resulted in the laughs that we needed. His service was beyond awesome. And the pie…phenomenal. We took 4 pieces to go. It’s definitely a place you need to visit. 10/10! You don’t find places like this anymore.

Friendly host and small family run business. We had the Angus and Wagyu burgers. The Apple pie crust was good but a tad sweet.

Tired after a day hiking in Zion? Come see Bob. He made one of, if not the, best burgers I have ever had. The fries were delicious and hand cut. We were strictly told NOT to put ketchup on the burgers, as that would ruin his masterpiece. He was correct. I also got a local beer (delicious) and though we were too stuffed for desert, he had a list of about 8 homemade pies of the day. It’s hard to have a perfect 5 star rating and let me tell you, none of that rating is going to the atmosphere of the restaurant, which was eclectic to say the least. All five stars are earned from the delicious meal and the colorful chef!
