Ronnie & Joan Byers opened ‘Byers Self Service Market’ in Williamsport, MD in 1959. It was a small general store which offered subs, sandwiches, groceries, and just about everything else they could get their hands on. From the beginning, Ronnie’s motto was “Yes, we have it!” At the age of 10, their son Mike Byers started his involvement with the store by standing on a wooden Barq’s Root Beer pop box to slice lunch meat for customers. The customers and salesmen always loved Mike. Through his childhood and young adult years, Mike followed in Ronnie’s footsteps at the store in Williamsport. In November 1987, Ronnie and Mike opened a second Byers’ location on Burhans Boulevard in Hagerstown, MD.

I ordered a BLT. The lettuce and tomatoes were mushy the mayo tasted out of date I didnt see anyone wash their hands after they got off their phones. Saw one picking their nose, water bugs are seen in the kitchen. Someone got angry at me in line because I would not pay for their stuff. Crackheads out front following me to my car asking for money. A lady who’s skin is covered in boils asked me if I wanted a good time. I’m sticking to sheetz or even pennymart

OVERLY PRICED FOOD FOR A LACK OF QUALITY AND CARE. Bought a very simple meal through door dash. A burger, BREADED wings with buffalo sauce, fries, and soda. Paid a total of 20 bucks for the meal (atleast around that) gave a 10 dollar tip and they still forgot to give me my soda. On top of that the packaging was poor, sauce got everywhere inside the bag, and even on the napkins. The food was mediocre at best, buffalo sauce tasted off, and the fries were bland. Called them up and was hung up on. Poor service overall. McDonalds does a better job than this. I FORGOT TO MENTION, they didn’t even make my order right. No breaded wings, and the burger was soggy and not cooked how i asked.

Nice selection of food and snacks at good prices. I like that the bagels for the sandwiches are thin, much easier to bite and chew while still being filling and getting that bagel flavor. They have a touch screen for ordering, tho could use having two of them.

My mom went to cash a check on their iou program and they told her come back in 2 weeks. Tried to get her wait longer and break contract because they said didn’t have the money. Then ended up shorting her $100 of her check. Won’t not recommend check cashing there .

Maryland now allows EBT cards to be used for hot food in restaurants I called them ask them if they accept it they said they did I placed an order I get there they say they do not accept it. So why did you say you did when I called and ask for the manager and she said you do? Additionally I noticed that buyer’s market doesn’t acknowledge people who have bad experiences they do not respond to your review they only respond to people that have something positive to say they don’t obviously take care of their unhappy or dissatisfied customers. Not good customer service I guess they haven’t heard that a upset customer will tell 50 people of their bad experience when a happy customer roll until a few. Take care of business if you want to stay in business. I think they have forgotten without customers they don’t have a business….

The food is delicious but very sketchy environment and you do not feel safe coming in by yourself. Multiple homeless and drugged out looking people hang out inside and outside of this place. Saw a dirty looking man walking around in the food prep areas and going outside and smoking with the door hanging open and then came back in – he appeared to work there. Grocery items are a little more expensive here than a normal store. Staff are friendly.

Byers Market catered my wedding in September and everything was delicious from the fried chicken, pulled pork, cheesy potatoes, everything. I would highly recommend giving Byers a chance for any catering needs or just go in there and get something to eat. Very delicious and great prices. Mike Byers and his team made our special day with great food and great service.

I ordered the 6pk snow white burgers and this is what i get. The picture specks for itself. Looks like they took a regular burger and cut it in four sections. We need the real snow white grill back in town. This is garbage.
