I drive by this place a lot. I finally made the stop today and I’m so glad I did. Why? This old (and I do mean old) service station on the side of the road serves some of the best smoked food you’ll ever consume. The atmosphere is side of the road and I’m fine with it because they focus on the food.

This is a roadside hole-in-the-wall BBQ shop. You order in a small one room house and wait for your order outside (locals seem to wait in the car with their buzzer). And it was the best brisket we have ever had. Simply incredible tenderness! And the potato salad and beans – typically things I only snack on – were just as good. The plate was locked clean.

Best BBQ this side of the Chattahoochee! A small family owned “hole in the wall” with outstanding customer service! Everything…and I mean EVERYTHING is delicious! Good portions. (Our family always has leftovers) They’re affordable and worth every penny! Definitely worth stopping in to catch a bite.

By far the best barbecue I’ve ever had and I come from Texas if you are around or near or passing through you need to stop at this place and meet the owner. They are great people the best barbecue, hands-down I have ever had.

I’m ashamed of the tiny fatty brisket I was offered. I would assume if the cuts were smaller and fatty you would throw an extra piece in. Wouldn’t return, paid $16 for 2x bacon sized pieces that had 3/4in thick straight fat. Marbled fat is one thing, this was not that. Plate was seasoned well. Shame.

When it’s good it’s really good. Just not consistent. I live next door and visit maybe twice a year. I still want to support the business. When it’s good I go back the next week or two. Ordered ribs a few weeks ago and they were so tender they were falling off the bone and they had flavor. Went back two weeks later and the ribs were terrible. No taste and frankly seemed like they were from the previous day. Too much to pay for just ok.

Unassuming bbq stop where the parking lot is bigger than the restaurant and that is worth the drive from Gwinnett. It is apparent the owners know bbq! I don’t eat meat anymore and the sides are more than favorable and filling. My meat-loving family enjoyed the rib tips and pulled pork and remarked at just how tender the food was!

I got the rib tips because they we’re out of brisket. It was very good along with the Mac n cheese , collard greens and potato salad. Takes a little time for the food to be cooked so order ahead if you are in a hurry. The serrvice was very good too.

I have passed by this place a multitude of times and today I finally made a stop. I’m mad that I hadn’t stopped sooner. This whole in the wallis definitely on my list of places I must take my in town and out of town friends to. The service was prompt. The food is fresh. It’s family owned. It’s extremely affordable given what some of the more dolled up places charge for less quality. If you’re driving down Stephenson Rd and you see the sketchy looking bbq place make sure you stop in and grab some. You won’t regret the decision.
