I recently had the pleasure of trying out the new happy hour menu at Bushido in Mountain View and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. With 25% off on all sake, wine, and specialty cocktails, I couldn’t resist giving it a try.

Dined here with friends. The food, the staff and the environment are all great. Every dish is good and the staff is extremely helpful and welcoming. The only downside is the price is a little bit high compared to normal Japanese restaurants. You get what you paid for. Recommend taking the pork sandwich

Awesome food – – great yakitori and nice noodle dishes. The Gyoza was also very well seasoned. The pork belly was absolutely fantastic – – even the kids enjoyed it. The problem that I have with this place is the service is really bad – – drinks didn’t show up until maybe the second course. I had to ask twice for them. The follow-up to our meal was nonexistent and in the end, the last piece of sushi that we ordered never showed up. The waiter did offer ice cream, but I can’t imagine the chef couldn’t prioritize one piece of sushi to send it to our table. The waiter needs to do better. The bus boy was awesome and the only reason that I’m giving 20% versus short changing the tip. Also the hostess was very nice too. Need to do better – – especially for the prices they charge.

Unfortunately, the sea urchin I received was far from fresh, and it tasted bitter. The waiter seemed fine, and I didn’t give him a hard time. However, the restaurant needs to improve the quality of its food. Especially since I recently dined at another restaurant of the same price range and cuisine type, I would recommend the management to try the food there for comparison. (Rondo Japanese Kitchen)

Had an enjoyable time there! Lots of unique food items. I ordered the Bushido ramen and the beef tartare roll and both were excellent. The ramen had a very clean flavour without being too fatty. The roll was absolutely delicious. Would recommend booking ahead of time so you’re guaranteed a table, they can sometimes get quite busy!

It was just ok. With the price I was expecting much more. We tried the popular wagyu sandwich, but it was overcooked and we couldn’t taste the wagyu. Also ordered uni risotto, but can hardly taste any uni in it. The oyster was the best of all, fresh and sweet. However, the rest of the dishes definitely don’t live up to the hype.

Recommend sake sashimi, beef tongue yokitori, wagyu sando and pork belly. The happy hour menu has several good choices. It’s applicable even on the weekends. The service is also good and quick. The only downside is it’s a bit pricy ($50+ pp). But the food is tasty!

It’s okay definitely over rated on social media. For me, the Sando didn’t met my expectations and overpriced too. Not bad, I think still worth to give it a try

Food is decent, would get one of the big plates though but the grills are nice.
