To be fair, I walked into the diner at noon on Memorial Day and it was packed. I asked to sit at a table and the only one available was in from if the cash register by the door. It was a table for 6. I was greeted by the man operating the register. I saw it was busy and didn’t get annoyed until 15 minutes with no one walking up to get my drink order. Register guy(sorry I don’t know who he was or his name) was very apologetic and got me my coffee and a glass of water. It was another 15 minutes before he came back and took my order. Again apologizing for the lack of a waitress for my table.

One of my favorite places in Carteret Nj. I came to visit this place many times and missed coming to have a nice. lunch with family and friends. I live here for almost 20 years. You can never go wrong by checking this place and the service is excellent. I can’t wait to visit this place again

My guy and I went to the Bus Stop diner in Carteret NJ. The atmosphere is family oriented and the restaurant decor has an old school vibe. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is good and we’ve eaten there several times. It gets pretty crowded but the staff works hard to find seating for everyone, slight wait sometimes. On our most recent visit I asked for scrambled eggs, pancakes and bacon. Everything was good but my only small complaint was I asked for scrambled eggs w/cheese but my eggs was not scrambled and the cheese was placed over the eggs which did not melt into the eggs. Other than that all was good. They serve lunch and dinner as well. The location is right off the turnpike located in strip mall (yes a diner in a strip mall) surrounded by several stores such as the Dollar Tree and Shoprite which is a plus. I would definitely recommend for quick bite to eat.

We loved the old school diner vibes here! It feels like you’ve stepped into a Time Machine and went back over 30 years in time. I love how they keep the original aesthetics going here. We ordered the chicken caesar and buffalo chicken salads that came in a nice, home style glass bowl. The food was delicious and service was friendly! Highly recommend this hidden gem in Carteret.

My father and I got together to get breakfast and went to this convenient location. When I arrived I parked in the plaza parking lot. I walked in and was greeted. It is a local, hometown diner. We sat and Stephanie was our server and she was nice. I wanted the apple pancakes and my dad got one of the meal combos. When the apple pancakes came out, it was not what I expected. The apples and walnuts were cooked into the pancakes as opposed to it being on top like I am used to at other locations. I didn’t want to send it back but didn’t want to force myself either. I went with the short stack instead and that was ok. My dad said his pancakes and bacon was ok as well. The bill was super affordable and we had an ok experience.

Those were awesome sandwiches. Both the BLT and the corned beef. Recommend this place of your stopping through. Great example of an American diner.

Was there on Friday right after breakfast. Would have been 5 stars but the corned beef was boiled and tough on a toasted bread. We then got something different. The staff of the Bus Stop is usually great. Our waitress had an attitude. And the place wasn’t busy when we got there. Last year I raved about this place. The food is good. My replacement quesadilla was excellent. And thanks to the man for bussing the tables. He got me a box. The rest of the staff was very friendly.

We got the #4 (3 pancakes w/ choice of meat) & #6 (breakfast sampler- 1 pancake, 1 french toast, 1 egg, 2 bacon, 1 sausage, 2 pork roll… or as they call it taylor ham). We also got a side of home fries. The food was good, but portions were average size for the price. The home fries were under seasoned. The place was very busy and the two servers in our section handled the crowd well. The gentleman at the counter was very friendly.
