I visited Burns recently and ordered online. The waiter suggested I ordered online, to ensure the availability of brisket and ribs. (I visited on Memorial Day so hours were limited.) I am not here to demean this company and its overall image, however, this last visit seems to be the last straw. I fear this company values profit over the quality of food. I ordered for 5 different people and each box of food varied severely. From ribs ranging in sizes, dry brisket, and bland/subpar sides. (Ultimately everyone settled for the food, because of the price and distance to drive back to the establishment.) Going in to pick up my order, I noticed a lot of people being helped and sent on their way. However, making it home and sitting down to eat, I noticed a lot of problems with the BBQ and some sides.

Let me add my accolades to the masses. Burns Original BBQ is excellent. From the meets to the sauces, it is all good. The prices are still reasonable by today’s standards and again, the barbeque sauce, oh my. So good. I ordered the brisket, the sausage and the potato salad. Everything was fresh and I mean really fresh. There was a long line just waiting to order. The whole experience was excellent. I highly recommend!

Remember this place from Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain, so decided to try them out after landing. Got the ribs, chopped beef, potato salad, and mac & cheese. The sides were just “okay.” But the ribs were good, just a tad but tough. The chopped beef was good, and the fat in it added flavor. I’d go back to try other meats. Parking is in the lot on the side of the building.

Great smoked Ribs and Brisket. Ribs had the right amount of smoke. They were not as tender as I would like. I would have like to have seen the extra meat on the backside of the rib cut off. I have never seen a professional restaurant not cut that meat off. The brisket was a little bland. It wasn’t bad. The mac and cheese was the best I have ever tasted. It was fresh and made with goodness. The green beans were ok. This place is in the Hood. They did have an armed Police officer. So that was a plus. The one staff member that I interacted with was not friendly. Overall the food was great, service and location was less than desirable. You get a moderate amount of food for the price. Fyi there is only one place to sit and that is outside. Its over 100 degrees outside!!!!!!!

Visited from Florida, they were out of boudin so I was recommended to try the chicken sausage and it was fantastic, sliced brisket and spare ribs were top tier. Delicious dirty rice, great smoked, dry rub bbq and love that sauce! Wish we had bbq this good at home.

This was my first time coming here. Found Burns on a TOP 50 list for best BBQ places. I was quite disappointed. I wanted to try the loaded potato but they didn’t have any. I opted for the 1 meat dinner plate. I got sliced brisket with potato salad and Mac n cheese. The brisket slices were very fatty and bland. I was shocked that there was nooo taste. The sauce wasn’t bad just sweet. The potato salad wasn’t great… it was more like mashed potato with mustard. The mac n cheese wasn’t anything special. I tried their in house bottled lemonade and it was incredibly sweet. I couldn’t finish my meal. Maybe it was an off day for them. But I really don’t feel like ever returning. There is ample parking there and outdoor seating. Wasn’t much of a wait after ordering and the staff was polite.

One of Houston’s Best BBQ joints! Forget the fancy fixin’s, purple onions, and plush settings. BBQ is about a taste and feel. If it tastes good it makes you feel good! Period! I had not had this BBQ in over a decade, but recently started working within 15 minutes of the restaurant.

Burns BBQ is a Houston institution and something everyone needs to do at least once. Anthony Bourdain-approved and a family favorite Burns BBQ original location in Acres Homes has been serving barbecue for years.

Be prepared to wait one to two hours for your food if you can even order. Not worth it at all. I couldn’t even get my food after placing an online order after waiting two hours and no one could tell me the status.
