I’m honestly surprised by some of the other reviews. Yes, the drinks are very expensive – but what do you expect at a poolside bar at this type of resort? We’ve eaten here countless times over the years, including a couple of quick meals on our recent trip last month. Service has been great on every occasion, and for a pool bar the food is good too. Really nice fish tacos and great chicken quesadillas. Nice place to spend a couple of hours when you want a break from the parks.

We really enjoy the food at this hotel pool bar and grill. The nachos are enough to feed two to three people. We really like the fish or chicken tacos and the Huli huli chicken sandwich. The food does take a little bit to come out but it’s always delicious. The drinks are tasty. You can’t go wrong with any of them.

Service was great but food was of very low quality. The tomato soup was canned tomato sauce, heated up. No herbs, no cream – nothing was added beside salt and a dust of black pepper here and there. Grilled cheese that came with it was what you’d expect out of a deli. If you’re staying at the hotel, do yourself a service and plan eating somewhere else because the other restaurants within the hotel offer the same low quality food.

My family and I all agree this is the best food and service at Pacific Royal. Staff is so friendly and fast. Yes you’re going to spend a little more for alcoholic beverages here but they bring them out quick and they are genuinely kind. Plus your pool side in the sun and fun. What more do you want?!

Very pricey which is expected for a place like this but the quality of the food did not meet expectations. We spent close to $70 for hamburgers, mac n cheese and french fries which were really not worth the price. Even if we are willing to spend during vacation, we would rather spend elsewhere.

After a long day at Universal theme park we just wanted to relax with a drink and snack. We sat at a table and looked over the menu deciding on sharing a pulled pork sandwich & a drink. We waited about 10 minutes and then asked the bartender if there was table service and he said “you can wait or order from me” so we ordered. One pulled pork sandwich, fries, ice tea, and pina colada with automatic 18% tip was $45.00. We had the food in under 5 minutes but it was cold! The server asked if wanted plates, we said yes, and never saw her again, so we used paper napkins as plates. A very disappointing experience that will not repeated.

My server Samantha was incredible. Very sweet and accommodating with great service. I had the Asian Chicken Salad that was the best salad I’ve ever eaten. The menu doesn’t have a whole lot of options, especially for kiddos, but it all worked out fine. All in all a great poolside experience, worth the money, and I want the special salad dressing of my Asian chicken salad at home with me!!
