I went to the Buff Patties shop in Elmont and I couldn’t believe it. I’m a Jamaican and this is the first Jamaican restaurant I’ve EVER been to that didn’t have an attitude, they said good morning, they were ALL smiling and VERY PLEASANT. I was so shocked that I had to say something to the ladies behind the counter. I will be returning to them from now on. The food was also delicious and fresh.

Few weeks ago I placed an order on Grubhub which was totally screwed up. Instead of just getting back my money, which I could have easily done through Grubhub, I courteously called the restaurant to complain. The person on the phone, which I should have written down her name, apologized profusely and promised to really “fix me up” the next time I would place a Grubhub order. She promised to give me double next time to make up for the disappointment. Well, today, I called to inquire if this offer still stood. No one remembered and the manager apologized for the past mistake but said that she would not be able to honor this offer. She said that if I could come by the restaurant, however, she could see what she could do. The restaurant is all the way in Elmont and I live in Freeport! I have NEVER been there in person, only ordered through Grubhub. Never again will I order from this place again. These are people who on top of not following simple directions from customers’ orders, they do not keep their word!

The quality of the Patties is satisfactory, however, it appears that the overall cleanliness of the establishment has declined since the new management assumed control. The windows are often foggy and present a grimy appearance.

After years of going to Buff patty on Elmont road I was concerned when I found out they were under new management. However, after calling in an order one day and talking to Sue the pleasant and cheerfulness I was greeted with I had to go in person to see. Overall I must say they are a lot nicer now and the food is still pretty good even under new management.

Food is always good. Curry goat is a delight, not a bad dish there at all. Cowfoot is superior. I actually got them to cut me some bun and cheese upon request. Very nice people. Highly recommend the food and I am picky about my Jamaican food, since we cook ourselves.
