Stopped in while traveling. We are from Lexington NC. Used to fantastic barbecue pork. Got 2 buddy’s way barbecue sandwiches and they were delicious. Don’t usually like barbecue away from Lexington area. Highly recommend this restaurant

I’m a big fan of Southern food and when I heard of a new restaurant nearby I naturally was interested. We ordered a barbecue chicken plate with baked beans and green beans and a fried chicken plate with fries and corn. The barbecue chicken was tender and moist but the sauce had a sweet taste as opposed to the traditional mildly sweet with a vinegar edge. The baked beans were sweet as well so I assume the provided sauce that came with the chicken must make up some part of the bean recipe. The green beans were absolutely Southern “seasoned to a t” perfection. The fried chicken was tender, juicy and very well cooked. The spices in the crust were very good but it was a thin crust and could have used more breading to provide the highly regarded crunch that makes a good fried chicken a great fried chicken. The fries were the crinkle cut style and could have been crisper but the corn was, as the green beans were, Southern perfection. Instead of hush puppies they provide corn sticks with the meals. I’m a big fan of corn sticks if they’re done well and these are quite good. We’ll definitely go back for the barbecue and the ribs.

We just left here with enough food to feed us a second dinner! I never really cared for barbecue chicken, until now. It was falling off the bone tender and their sauce was spicy but awesome! Loved the potato salad and the chopped barbecue was the best I had around here. Everyone was very friendly. We will definitely be back!

Owner is very cool, and the place is so welcoming ☺. I love the ribs but my kid loves the ,pulled pork but the sides mac & cheese , baked beans mmmmm so good. Id give it 5 stars but im not to with the vinegar bbq sauce 4.5 is my vote really… also damn good Shepard pie

I didn’t like the evidence of animal deaths all over the restaurant. I didn’t like the flavor-list pork (boiled or something). I didn’t like the Cake (although fresh and moist) it also didn’t have any flavor. (Cheap whip cream?). And I certainly didn’t intend to spend $25.03 for a lunch “special”.

My husband was tipsy and wanted chicken on this long country road to SC. Needless to say they did not disappoint. The owners were so sweet and very inviting. The food was so good. My husband ate that plate and fell asleep for the next two hours.

Some of the best barbecue I have had in a long time. It was very moist and the taste was outstanding. They cook the pork on site. I only tried the barbecue but there was a beautiful pig pickin cake on display that was homemade and look delicious. The owners are super nice and I felt at home when I placed my order. If you are within 50 miles of this restaurant it would be worth your effort!!

A nice little hole in the wall. Food was delicious, chicken was fried hot made to order, bbq was good, sides were delicious. Tea was sweet. Wait staff was wonderful. Will definitely go back again on our way to our farm on the weekends. As of today they were only cash only so make sure you have cash before you go. Banana pudding was also on time!
