I have to say, the restaurant I visited was hands down the finest place for soul food! Every aspect of it was absolutely outstanding. The chicken was perfectly cooked and flavor-packed, while the mac and cheese and collard greens were simply amazing. I had the pleasure of dining there during the Cooper Cummings Family reunion, but sadly, it’s unlikely that I’ll have the opportunity to go back anytime soon. However, if you happen to find yourself in South Carolina, I highly recommend making the effort to visit this exceptional establishment!

The food was very good. I am a pescatarian, and the fried shrimp was delicious. My daughter is a vegetarian, and they made her a lovely plate of stir-fried vegetables. The meat eaters in our group enjoyed their meals also.

Third time’s a CHARM! As always the food is southern comfort for the soul. The lasagna was a tasty treat…warm and bubbly with lots of cheese. This is the only place where I can eat only the skin off the fried Buckshot’s I’ll be back real soon!!!

I was visiting Myrtle Beach, SC, and decided to drive to Charleston since it wasn’t raining there. A guy suggested I check this place out along the route. I’m glad I did because the food was on point.

This family owned soul food & seafood restaurant is a spot Guy should visit. It’s opened Tuesday – Sunday. It’s a long distance drive for me, but the food never disappoints, especially their Sunday buffet that ends by 3:30. And this sweet potatoes treats are the best!

They charge and I found hair in my carryout lunch trey I feel like with the amount of money they charge I should find hair in my food trey not likely to refer friends or family members to eat there in my opinion.

I travel weekly past Buckshots from Myrtle Beach to go to MUSC. We decided to support a black-owned business for a late lunch on our way back home. When we arrived, they reported that they were replenishing the buffet, so I responded no problem-we don’t mind waiting. At this time, the server asked which food items we wanted. I requested the rice, mac & cheese, cabbage, & 2 chicken legs. She said, okay. She added everything to my plate except the fried chicken (stating that it was in the fryer & she would bring it to me). Well, this is where the issue came in. She brought me a leg & a thigh. I don’t eat thighs. When I asked, she said that was all they had. By the time she brought it, I had already eaten about half of my sides, which meant that I was now obligated to pay for the meal. The bait & switch was very unnecessary. It would have been much more customer-friendly to ask if I was okay for them to substitute, so I could have said, I would wait for the legs to get done or decide not to eat there since they didn’t have what I wanted. Not to mention, we had to practically beg for a glass of water, too. I assume the lady who handled payment was the owner/manager, as her solution was to give me two fried chicken legs in a to-go box to take home. I didn’t want to eat chicken later, I requested it as a lunch item.
