Today was our first visit to Buck’s dinner. What a hidden gem off route 20 in French Creek! I had the dish and chips. Two huge pieces of battered cod and crinkle fries with a bowl of homemade Cole slaw. It was enough for 2 meals, and I am a big eater! My husband had breakfast ( served all day), which was a 3 egg omelet and toast. He ordered home fries on the side, and it was a large portion as well. He reviewed his breakfast, so I won’t steal his thunder.

We have been making sure to avoid the chains and to eat local. Great food …. great service … don’t mind paying a buck for ice water (the dishwasher needs a paycheck too.)

We had a fabulous experience here today. We made a spur of the moment stop, and it was definitely a good decision. We both had the special, which was the open faced roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. The food was hot, fast, and fresh. Our waitress, even though she was the only one, kept up very well and was very sweet to all her customers. The owner, who is also the 5 star cook, came and out and spoke to his patrons, which I think is a definite plus when you are a new business. We couldn’t resist a piece of Boston cream pie for dessert, and it was delicious also. I did not take any pictures but it looked as fantastic as it tasted. We will definitely be returning.

My wife and I were on an unplanned weekend trip. Saturday evening we stopped and had dinner at Buck’s diner, absolutely amazing! The food was excellent my wife had a burger and fries I had the country fried steak mashed potatoes and corn everything was outstanding. My compliments to the chef, and the waitresses was great and at a great price. We will be returning on our next trip there!

The pancake was good. The Southern Bowl didn’t have enough potato for all the gravy. Would’ve gotten four stars with more potatoes. Would’ve gotten five stars if the potatoes were shredded. The service was great. The place was very clean. If I’m ever back in that area, I’d try more things on the menu.

Food is outstanding. Service is wonderful. This is a diner, old school small town diner. If you’re looking for a Michelin rated restaurant this isn’t it. But it’s the place to go for a great meal at a fair price. The fresh rolls are wonderful. You won’t leave hungry that’s for sure.

I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy with fried corn on the cob. Food was excellent with large portions. After the dinner it wasn’t clear if you went to the counter or they gave you a check so we just went to the counter eventually.. The decor is mostly guitar decals and the like. Looks like an unfinished middle schoolers room. Need something more….a lot more. And the website did not match the meals.
