We have been to Buckhorn Several times, and with the previous owners. The last couple times we have been there we had a large group. Most recently we had 16 people, we were seated right away and ordered drinks and soon after our food. We waited 1 hour and 50 minutes for our food. Our food wasn’t worth the wait; cold and overly salty. Our food came out in sections, 4 of our 16 waited even longer for their food as the rest were finishing up eating. The waitress was very friendly. Both owners were there and never once made a point to apologize for the wait or offer a drink. The dining room was not full and we were seated in the bar area. If would’ve known it was going to be a 2 hours wait for our food we would’ve chosen a different location.

Cute place easily accessible from the atv trail. The pulled pork was very good. And the prime rib, pork bean soup and cheese curds were also great. The fried pickles were amazing. Definitely get those. Perfect place to stop for a cold one and a hot meal.

The pulled pork was great and the fries amazing. My friend always gets their bloody Mary’s because they are delicious.

Had our class reunion there. Everything was perfect. Clean, comfortable, good food, reasonable, quiet town. Will definitely be visiting again.

Food was awesome. We had the Broasted chicken and Cajun chicken pasta. Great cocktails in a tub size glass! Quaint small town bar over the hill east of Birchwood.

Always have had great food and service. Today it was the fish fry. Excellent.

The Buckhorn Bar is my new favorite Northern Wisconsin bar/eatery. First of all, they have a one page (double sided) menu. That’s right: a single page. No overwhelming searches through six different booklets: just a single page of amazing options to please all diners. Super easy for larger parties. Second: they have options to please everyone. From burgers (the Buckhorn burger is a time-tested favorite) to fish tacos, everyone can find something they love. The portions are super generous (a few appetizers will feed a crew… until the amazing dinners make their way out of the kitchen minutes later). The prices are super reasonable. Tonight, I hooked myself up with a steak sandwich and was not disappointed. Their locally grown meat is second to none, and their steak would have been enough for two generous sandwiches and was cooked to perfection exactly as ordered. I also got their BBQ pork nachos for the table, and everyone enjoyed to the point we were scraping the platter. This is also the place too hook yourself up with some true WI cheese curds. The service was fast and the drinks were stiff. I would recommend this place any time!

Burgers are amazing here. The bar food was incredible and they also offered prime rib specials and other steak, seafood, chicken dinners which I did not try yet, but I plan on coming back to try one of those.

We stay there and visit our friends in town. The beds are comfortable in my opinion. And the bar and grill are right next door. So dinner and drinks are easy to access. We also have easy access to the blue hills atv/utv & side by side trails. The county has recently added more gravel trails so others beside the locals can travel deeper into the forest and find the hidden gem local made trails. It’s my favorite place in Wisconsin to ride.
