Buck and Honey Birkinbine were one of the area’s best-known residents. They once owned and farmed the land where our first location in Sun Prairie sits today. Together they lived a life of service and philanthropy in the community and they were always well known to enjoy hosting good company at their home on Windsor Street. It is in their spirit that we present to you Buck & Honey’s Restaurants.

I have done take away of the same sandwich once a week since they opened and it was always very good and very consistent. But I’m the last few months not so much. The wrap is always different tends to be more lettuce than chicken and the chicken now seems like pressed refrigerator chicken not fresh and today the wrap is completely ripped open on the side they had to have seen in when they put it in the container. Just poor quality. Service is always friendly and Katie has been amazing anytime I’ve had issues

I had a wonderful & welcoming experience, from entry to exit, because of the staff! I saw them advertised on tv and wanted to visit. Being a Black woman and having had a few previous negative experiences at local eateries, I was cautious going in but any angst I had was quickly dispelled by the hostess that greeted me at the takeout area. She was soooo warm that I went to the bar and ordered my takeout from there. The menu has variety. I bought the pizza, which ended up being one of the prettiest (and tastiest) pizzas that I’ve gotten in a long time, and the jambalaya looked amazing! I WILL be back!

My first time eating here, party of 6 and everyone was happy with their food. Inviting atmosphere and the waitress came just the right number of times! I recommend the French onion soup, it was excellent and their fries with sauce are excellent and uniquely shaped!

Tried to post this review on Open Table, but because I said that I would not recommend Buck and Honeys in Waunakee, it wouldn’t let me post. A table of five of us dined there last night, and after the waitress took our order, she never showed back up until it was time to pay our bills. I kept looking around during my meal to check for her, because I would’ve liked to have had sour cream for my gumbo, which was spicy. She didn’t show back up to check on us nor say anything to us until it was time to pay our bill. We also didn’t get anybody to offer to refill our waters during that entire time either. Bummer because this restaurant isn’t short staffed. Won’t dine here again. For the price, we will go to Eno Vino instead.

Bee is the epitome of service! Bright, welcoming and very friendly! She let us settle in while! In my prior life as CEO/PRE I would hire her to lead a team.Our meal was nicely prepared! My Ahi was delicious (I would skip the cashews) and Dave liked his veggie burger.
