Sunday funday! Nice stop to try a new place or go to a local favorite! This was our first time and the food was great! Husband and I both ordered crab rolls and seafood chowder.

They don’t make their own cocktail or tartar sauces. That’s just a hard no for me. We paid almost $40 for one combo and it was mainly soggy fries. The scallops were undercooked and the fish was over cooked. The clams were good. The shrimp were meh. Asked for lemon wedges and they gave me ONE. Just keep going. Do not recommend.

Went in for an advertised special – $22 for Chowder & Lobster Roll – this is a good deal knowing lobster prices are through the ceiling. I live close, but only have been once before. Nice walk-up ordering set up inside. A lot of chalkboards with menu selections. Many choices, along with craft beer & wine. The counter ordering was simple. (There was a short line, but they kept it moving) The cashier was the highlight – friendly, clear communication and thorough. A+ Service. My order was for takeout (rainy day pickup) – prepared in a very reasonable time period. The lobster roll was ample portion and fresh. One with butter, one with Mayo. Simple and good – no surprise seasoning or accoutrements. That’s usually a good thing. Chowder not as clean tasting as I hoped, but okay. Many local places buy a base product and doctor it. I feel like the potatoes in chowder was over cooked making it a little grainy. Ordered cheesy fries with bacon. Appreciated real cheese, but turned into a solid block. Hard to eat. Liquid cheese has its advantages. Still a positive experience. Again, good service was the standout here.

My family and I are here in Wells, ME visiting for the first time. This was our first time visiting Brown’s Clam Shanty and everything was great! We did a take out order as it’s easier to do with 2 young ones. Food was made quickly and was ready when I arrived to pick it up.

We ordered at window, cashier couldn’t have been nicer. We loved the chowder and shrimp tacos were one of the best I have had. Went back the next day for another, sad to find closed. It’s sad help is so hard to find. Would definitely go back if in area.

The clam strips were outstanding as usual. Fresh, sweet and non-greasy. Delicious. Wish they still had umbrellas over the outside tables though.

The food was great. Fresh and prepared right away. They had some specials with fried fish and lobster rolls…just delicious. The staff was super friendly. Seating outside, enough distance from other people.

I was excited to try this place, and while the staff was friendly, the fried food was disappointing. The clams were over-fried and the shrimps were greasy and so tiny.

Great clams and fries. Fair craft beer selection. Wonderful service. Outside seating allowed us to have our dog with us.

Loved the seafood basket! Scallops are huge and the ahrimpa, clam strips and fish are cooked to perfection and taste great. Highly recommend.
