They say that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and in the Brooks family, that couldn’t be more true. For three generations we’ve been in the business of bringing people together with the best BBQ and the friendliest servers too. What started as a humble chicken farm in 1912 grew into a catering business in 1951, and finally, in 1961, the first ever Brooks’ House of BBQ opened its doors. A lot has changed since then, but some things never will, like our world-famous BBQ chicken slowly cooked over the largest indoor charcoal pit east of the Mississippi. Aside from the best meat for miles, you can expect a friendly “hello” when you walk in and an appreciative “thanks” when you’re all done.
Welcoming, long-running BBQ joint prepping its celebrated chicken in a giant indoor charcoal pit. Based on 3 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.4 stars. Price $$

Stopped by for lunch on a road trip. I enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich and onion rings. Mac and cheese was pretty good, too. My husband enjoyed his baked beans, but thought the pulled pork was sort of bland. No one in the family cared for the french fries. 2 of my kids got chicken poppers which they left mostly uneaten. I tried one and it was overcooked and dry. We were also planning to use the bathroom before hitting the road, but much to our dismay the dining room was closed, which is where the bathrooms are located.

Wish the indoors was finished. Are renovating the inside for a future buffet. It was warm out today if so we sat under the gazebo. It was a nice breeze.

I have been going to Brooks since the 70’s. It hasn’t changed much over the years until recently. It’s currently carry out only. The dinning room is closed. Sign says it’s because they don’t have enough employees to run it. Fortunately there are several picnic tables outside to eat at. The chicken is still amazing. However, the portions are now smaller. If you order a combo, you only get 1/4 chicken now instead of a half. But definitely stop and try the chicken. You won’t be disappointed in the taste. And grab a bottle of the Bar BQ sauce while you’re there, and make your next cook out amazing.

I’ve had Brooks BBQ chicken for years through fundraisers and it’s always been delicious and have always wanted to get here. Today was my first time and I thought it was solid. I really thought the food tasted great and was worth the $20 I paid. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. Reminded me of all the BBQ places in the south that I’ve been too so the ordering and food pick-up concept wasn’t too foreign. The Ribs were not my favorite but cant win ‘em all. Reading other reviews I do wish I got to experience the pre Covid Brooks House of BBQ but I’d still def come back!

We ate outside since the owners are making changes to the dining room. They told us that the dining room may be finished by the end of August. The food is Excellent, always the Best!

Chicken is still really good, but everything else has gone to the bottom of the hill. This includes employees. So rude. ,This is more of a fast food joint not a restaurant. I am not impressed with the new get up and get it yourself instead of them bringing me my food. The ranch dressing is just sour cream and WAY too much vinegar. The brisket was dry.

The dining hall is still closed but the food is amazing. They have several picnic tables outside to be able to eat on site.
