We attended the air show today and needed dinner. We happened on Brisas and it did not disappoint. The food was truly incredible and the service was very friendly. We also enjoyed the DJ playing his music and singing. Thing to note-we had a three year old, and we thought there was no kids menu because it’s not listed on the regular menu. When we went to order for her the waitress informed us they had chicken fingers and fries and a cheese quesadilla. FYI. We live over an hour away, but we will drive out just to eat here again!

Went to Brisas for brunch and it did not disappoint. The bloody mary was !!! I ordered the eggs Benedict. They use pimento cheese and pickled onion to give it the perfect southern flair. Downtown Goldsboro was absolutely charming.

My experiences here have been very different each time. Initially I went out with girlfriends and had drinks and lunch. The nachos are ok but it’s mostly a lot of chips and they skimp on the chicken that they charge you for, so I’d like a good portion of it. The first time getting a coco loco drink, it was in a big glass and done perfectly with ratio of ice to drink, etc. the next time getting it, it was a very small glass but they charge me the same thing and it was mostly filled with ice. Getting dinner here, my husband and I realized that many of the meals they just change and serve mashed potatoes with in some variation which did not taste good to us. I did enjoy the green plantains I tried, as well as the sweet ones. The street corn was okay. Unfortunately the service all times we’ve been in has not been the best. I usually just stand at the entrance but no one comes to seat us. But it says to wait to be seated. Then after a while someone hollers from the bar to just seat ourselves. Overall, I want to like this place but it’s not consistent, and I think they could do more to make the dishes authentic. It was more American to me personally.

The bartender was friendly and did greet us, but the owner never greeted or said anything to us but glanced and walked by several times. To top it off he made a very racist comment and tried to mask it by mentioning Chris Rock,Not cool and very unprofessional to say in front of two black customers. I won’t be back and will make sure other poc’s don’t as well. No we don’t all like watermelon and chicken in case you want to know.

Amazing food ! Great portions ! I was able to meet the chef Ruben and thank him for such great food. He truly is an amazing Chef ! I will definitely be back with my family. I recommend the chicken carbonara but honestly everything on the menu was so good. Sweet plantains were my favorite! Jeff was a great server too! If you’re able to stop in definitely ask for him! I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Thank you for giving my family and I a great time! The bartenders as well.

Food : all 4 of us agreed the food was top notch (we all had something different). Service: Excellent. Atmosphere: Very good, music a little loud for conversation but good quality….if all you want is dinner and pleasant atmosphere it’s the place to go, it won’t disappoint. It was our first time in and will go back.
