This was a wonderful little find while visiting Sioux City! The Cafe had such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The walls are covered with inspiring quotes! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was very good! The best part was that they had a meal for those in need program where I was able to pay for a future meal for someone in need!

Brightside Cafe is AMAZING! The food was fantastic, the service was great, and the vibe was inspiring — both because of the cool quotes painted on the walls in the cafe, as well as the pay-it-forward aspect of being able to contribute to their breakfast program for those experiencing food insecurity.

Wait staff was good my kids Dino chicken nuggets had been over cooked they wouldn’t eat them. My steak burrito or chop steak not sure the meat had been over cooked on one side it was chew and unappetizing. Cheese balls and fries where good

I really like the food here but unfortunately during the lunch hour it can get busy and your wait times can get a little long. I get an hour for my lunch break and most places have no problem getting us in and out during that time frame with plenty of time to get back to work. I work a block from brightside and still end up late back to work. there is one gal who seems to be the main waitress and unless you are a regular or you know it’s seems like you are less of a priority to those she does see regularly. she comes off a little cold. great food just not the best service.

Brightside catered a dinner for 35 people for us, and then an hour later a welcome reception for 35 more. We were VERY happy with all aspects. We felt the price was fair, the choices good, the food was tasty, and the people and service wonderful. They arrived right on time, and they didn’t just drop off food; they stayed through our dinner service to replenish and keep everything going. They came back at the end to clean up, where many caterers drop off the food and disappear into the sunset.

We were driving through & always enjoy trying new places…Brightside Cafe did NOT disappoint! So glad we stopped there for lunch!

Had never been here before. Didn’t know the program, but seemed a little off today. There was a sign at the door saying to wait to be seated, yet I waited for probably 5min or more while several employees buzzed by, and no one offered help or even said they would be back to seat me. Someone clearing tables (not wait staff) finally asked if I had been helped, and I said no, so he told me to just find a spot and someone would be with me. Didn’t seem like it was part of his job, so kudos to him for noticing I wasn’t getting helped. My waitress didn’t show for a while. Once she did, it took quite a while for her return. She came by for other tables, but passed me up. I didn’t even get my drink until my meal was half way eaten, whereas I’m used to having a drink while looking at the menu. I ordered the bright side burger and chili. Both were pretty decent. Not out of this world, but worthy enough to try again some time. Fries were decent too. From my experience, food seemed good enough to try again sometime. Service certainly seemed lacking today, but I saw other servers buzzing around attentively, so I think it is possible that my issues happens to be with the particular server that I had. Therefore, since the food was decent, and it looked like other people were getting good service, I’m not going to dismiss the place from a lack of service experience this time, as I assume it was likely something that may not repeat if I try again. So I’ll give a good 4 stars at this point, and try again sometime to hope they hold the 4 star rating I gave them the benefit of the doubt on.

This place use to be great. Now they are just a hassle. You get enough salsa for 2 or 3 bites of your meal and they want to charge you for more salsa for another couple of bites. The staff is rude. The food has gone down hill and is overcooked. Burritos ripped open and two people’s orders shoved into one box. This place has gotten ridiculous. The manager is zero help as well as she’s the one with all this messed up issue. I use to order several times a week now lucky if I order once a month. Do better. Get better staff. You use to care. What happened?

I went here with my two daughters and my grandson for my birthday brunch. We had a wonderful morning. The food was wonderful and we enjoyed ourselves. My daughter is a regular with her boyfriend. That is why they brought me here here for my birthday brunch because they got I would enjoy it as much as she does.
