Perfect place for a romantic, cozy date night. We had made a reservation and were seated promptly. We each ordered the steak au poivre and it was perfectly prepared, very delicious! The potato pancake which was one of the side options was so good. The creme brulee and profiterole dessert we’re a perfect ending to a nice dinner. Service was friendly and attentive, atmosphere is inviting and quaint. Would recommend and will return again.

Fun night at a chef’s table event. Delicious food. Lovely, cozy dining room. Stephan and Chris are so warm and welcoming, making you feel as if you’re a dinner guest in their home.

Bridge Street is one of the best kept secrets in Portsmouth. Is it even a secret, really? Set just off to the side of the main strip, Bridge Street is tucked in among the houses of Portsmouth residents. It is some of the best French food I’ve had outside of France, too. Their wine list is great, their chef is spectacular, and their service is mostly good but can sometimes be so-so (we’ve dined her probably five times and only had one not the best experience, so more good than so-so). Their Filet au Poivre and Coq au Van are two delightful recommendations and be sure you don’t skip dessert!

Very delicious food. The duck was cooked perfectly and was so full of flavor and very juicy. The goat cheese chicken in phillo dough was unique and had a great flavor also. The wine selection was good and had a wide range of prices. The waitress was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

First time to this restaurant. Dinner for 3. Unfortunately, the cuisine was disappointing. The appetisor portobello mushroom with crab and lobster lacked flavor. The bread basket was nice. The turkey entree was dry. The potato cake was OK. For dessert, the chocolate flourless cake was tasteless and inedible. We had a great time because our company was sensational. Yet, disappointingly the cuisine was way off the mark. Not traditional French cuisine. Wine list extensive. The service OK. As we left the restaurant, (2nd last table to leave) we noted that the server did not thank us or bid us farewell as we walked toward the exit. We left a $40 gratuity on our $209 tab. I would not rush back to this restaurant. Hence the 3 stars. They can do so much better and I believe that they may well know this to be true. I feel that Bridge Street Bistro has seen better days.

Chris and Stephan have created a magical place where the ambiance nearly rivals the food! Every time we go, the food gets better and better! We could not recommend the Bridge Street Bistrot highly enough!!!

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of attending a cooking class and meal at Bridge Street Bistro. Causal and welcoming, the class was very informative and the company of other patrons was great fun. There’s nothing like sitting in a kitchen watching Stephan and Chris prepare a meal. The conversations were lively and the food was exceptional. A good time was had by all.

Fantastic experience: great classical French food in a comfortable setting with gracious hosts. We love Stephan’s specialty – stylish potato pie wedges that complement dishes. Mussels are not to be missed 🙂 Leave room for desert. We also attended Stephan’s cooking class – a whole new perspective and appreciation on what it takes to create these delicious experiences.

This was such a wonderful dining experience! The atmosphere was so cozy! Our waitress was fabulous and helped us make Awesome choices. The chef prepared our filet and salmon with scallops the way that we like it! You can tell there’s a gifted chef preparing the meals, the pastries the desserts, all the spices blended so well together. Truly amazing! One of the best meals we’ve ever had!
