In our local Facebook groups, Brick Walk Tavern is consistently highly rated, for food and service, so I finally made it over there, with my daughter. And I’m so glad I did, and can’t wait to go again. Service was fantastic from the moment we entered. The interior is very nice and there are some amazing historical photos on the walls.

Food was very good. The name of the restaurant is a little deceptive in a good way, the quality and offerings are higher end than you would expect at a tavern. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of the menu and don’t remember the name of my meal but it was delicious. According to the bartender the menu changes daily. We started with wontons and zucchini chips. Wontons were good but similar to ones I have had at many places. Zucchini chips were delicious. Lightly battered and fried with great flavor. We then had a burger, definitely worth trying, and my meal which I can’t name. It was a bowl of sorts and the meat was tender and the entire dish was full of flavor, would absolutely order again. For me it was a nice wine and cocktail selection. The downside for me was service. The bartender was not attentive and pushed very hard for us to order the entire meal at once. We were there very early and the restaurant was not crowded. Our appetizers came out soon after ordering so we were glad we insisted on ordering separately. We also wanted to order a dessert to go and the bartender was very hesitant that we could do that. We dropped the request. Overall will return and definitely recommend based on food but the restaurant seems a little pretentious, am hoping that was a wrong first impression and we will feel differently next time.

Such a great restaurant! After hearing people rave about it on Facebook we decided to go for our anniversary dinner. Certainly lived up to the hype. Their menu is constantly changing which is fun and reason to keep going back. Luckily the chicken dish I loved is a constant. Chicken was bursting with flavor. Gorgonzola salad was the perfect start to the meal. My wife loved her soft shell crab over spicy garlic noodles. We finished the meal with the s’mores mug pudding. Don’t walk. Run. It’s worth it.

Very good restaurant with a nice rotating seasonal menu. The ambience and the setting is very good. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is extremely tasty with fine details in the presentation. The appetizers, small plates and desserts are all very good as well. The cocktails are also very good and pair well with the food.

We have been to BWT many times and the food is generally a cut above most other Fairfield County restaurants. We booked a Friday reservation at 8pm on Fourth of July weekend, and the dining room side of the restaurant where we reserved was nearly deserted. Very odd for a Friday night at BWT. The service was gracious and attentive, but the food, not so much this time. My husband ordered the chicken and lemongrass dumplings, but they were small and kind of dried out. My first course of an Asian eggplant with greens was ‘Meh”. My husband got the Steak Frites, which is always reliable, but the frites are just WAY too salty. I made the mistake of ordering the Moroccan Lamb Shank, which was properly cooked (falling off the bone), but too heavily spiced with cinnamon. Yeah, cinnamon is a major spice in Moroccan cuisine, but it overpowered the other spices which I could hardly discern. The worst part were the garbanzos under the lamb which were still chewy. Maybe the chef was not working that night? The reason I’ve given two stars for atmosphere is because since we were among the last tables dining there that evening, the kitchen staff was obviously doing their final clean-up for the night and the racket emanating from the kitchen was unacceptable. Banging of pots, pans, etc, in and out of the sinks was just unbearable. I mentioned it to our waiter, and the table of four next to us overheard, and chimed in that they, too were surprised by how loud it all was. When one is paying $42 for an entree, one doesn’t expect that level of noise coming from the kitchen while trying to enjoy a birthday dinner. We’ll undoubtedly be back to BWT, but I hope the chef and owners read these comments.

Their menu changes on a regular basis, which is nice and gives you a nice variety. The portions are very generous. The quality of the food is excellent, with the seafood always being extremely fresh. I’ve eaten her a few times now, and everything I have had and tasted from others in my group has been prepared incredibly well and perfectly seasoned. It is very obvious that the chef is very talented. The chef’s range of different cuisines from many different countries is absolutely amazing. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything that’s on their menu. I highly recommend the Brick walk Taveren. This comes from a retired chef of 45 years. I consider the B.W.T. to be in the top 2 or 3 restaurants in Fairfield County.

Consistently some of the best food we’ve had. On occasion there is one dish or an app that is a miss, but on the whole the food quality and flavors are a step above nearly anywhere else we go (including some very good places). I always look forward to dinner at Brick Walk.

Fantastic service from start to finish. The food was cooked to perfection and the drinks were strong. It’s a little pricey but well worth it all things considered. A very pleasant time all around.
