Brenda’s Kitchen is one my fav. Spanish restaurants in Waterbury. Not to mention it is right in my neighborhood. Def. a hidden gem. I love eating in it is always so peaceful & clean. But today they went above and beyond for me w/o me having to ask. Not knowing I am a reg. Customer. Not to mention the food was above and beyond good.

When we don’t feel like cooking a meal, Brenda’s is most often our choice. Every order has been consistently good. We especially enjoy their pork shoulder, beef stew and empanadas. Their breakfast sandwiches are great too.

I came with a travel colleague and oddly I packed my lunch which they kindly let me bring in to eat with my colleague. I wish I hadn’t packed my own lunch so I could have ordered. My colleague was south American and loved the food. If you look for hole in the wall restaurants, here is one.

The food portions were good. However, the flavor was non existent in most of the food. There is no salt, no sofrito, nothing. Not on the meat, in the rice, or in the beasns. The beef stew was tender, but no flavor and had almost no sauce. I won’t order again.
