My San Diego transplant buddy, Mark, found this little, semi-upscale gem in the now-burgeoning Wilmington, NC area that had delicious, well-made, classic French cuisine that wasn’t overpowering with BBQ and tons of Meat (which I crave now & then!) that one so often finds when one travels down South. Grilled Octopus, Escargot, lightly-fried Calamari, assiette de Fromage and crusty, yet tender Baguette started us off with a lovely presentation of Blackened Scallops (Bay & Sea)

AMAZING food and service! We went for my birthday and the server was great, all the staff was so kind and told me happy birthday. The food was excellent even my picky child was able to order something she would like (pasta and red sauce). I ordered the filet mignon and French onion soup both were fantastic. The chocolate mouse for desert was divine! Both my cocktails, French 75 and Old Fashioned were perfect. Couldn’t ask for a better meal!

Brasserie Du Soleil provides a fantastic dining experience. From decor, table service, craft cocktails to well prepared menu, the Brasserie is a must visit destination. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner of escargot, oysters, sautéed flounder, seared scallops and deserts. We will be back for more!!

We didn’t have a reservation so we sat at the bar. It was lovely and the bartenders were very attentive. We had 2 appetizers, the beef carpaccio and the scallops. For the main course we had the Veal medallions and escargot. Everything was delicious. The beef carpaccio was so tender and the capers and light sauce were just perfect with it. The veal was cooked wonderfully and smartly paired with the polenta. We also had a mini creme brulee and it was outstanding. We have never been disappointed here. Terrific staff with amazing French food as well. We will definitely keep coming back!

The food at this place is spectacular, everyone in my family was more than impressed with their dishes. They also have an amazing wine selection and great specials. To top it off they have some of the best service I’ve encountered in a long time. Our server AC was incredible, she promptly told us all of the specials and answered any questions we had. Overall an amazing experience.

Having an 11:30am reservation and being the third party in the door I would not expect to hear excessive back and forth on where to sit us from the hostess and person who seated us.

Brasserie Du Soleil has a light and fresh homemade French Onion Soup that is both light and refreshing as French Onions soups go (as opposed to the heavier darker iterations of the dish). It is presented elegantly and served with a side of baguette that is fresh and has just the correct amount of crispness. A nice touch is that they do not charge for additional bread as many places do. The amount of bread and cheese is well balanced with Brasserie seemly layering the bread within the soup which is a very nice touch and makes for a very consistent eating experience. The interior is open and well-lit due to the large windows along one wall leading out to an outdoor patio seating area. The restroom is very clean and nicely decorated. All of the staff we interacted with were quite friendly and helpful. The soup is slightly overpriced in my opinion ($10) however, given the area of town and the type of restaurant it is, the pricing is most likely in line. This restaurant based on the soup, décor, cleanliness, and service definitely earned 5 stars.
