Perfect for my breakfast this morning! Just steps away from my hotel, surprisingly uncrowded. Staff was pleasant and service was quick. All menu choices for breakfast were appealing but I chose healthy and stuck with bacon and eggs. Potatoes were yummy and just the right size! Most important? Coffee was great!

Brasserie Cognac’s new location in Midtown east is an excellent addition to the neighborhood. The dimly lit, music-filled ambiance creates a warm and inviting atmosphere for a delightful dining experience and the attentive and friendly staff add to the welcoming environment.

I’m sorry to say this place, newly opened under a new name since COVID destroyed this whole area around mid-town and Lexington, doesn’t cut it. I went for breakfast at 0730. Location brilliant. Interior decoration is really nice. It looks the part. The waitress service was friendly and engaging. But, oh my word, the breakfast menu is limited and dull, (you can’t have eggs “your way” in Manhattan? Are you serious?). I chose scrambled egg and bacon off the fixed menu. But I changed the sourdough toast to an English muffin. I want this to be toasted. Then I can put butter on it, and add jam or marmalade to my liking. But no, the chef decided to stick it under a kilogram of metal on his griddle plate, squish it flat, so it looked like it had been deep-fried. Utter nonsense. Potatoes were boiled and horrible, “greens” were lifeless arugula leaves with no dressing, the whole plate was just wrong. Get a new chef. For goodness sake.

10/10 experience! I stayed at the hotel, and both the restaurant and hotel had spectacular service! Miriam, Milko and MD had outstanding customer service. Super attentive, friendly, and detail oriented. Im sure there are better restaurants in the city, but this restaurant has had the best service I have received thus far. For that, I will definitely be back! Also- their cocktails are incredible!!

We sat down and requested tap water. That’s what we got – lukewarm water. I asked if they could put ice in it. Waiter said we would be charged!? Then asked for a glass of ice – should have left then. Word to the wise, do not order a poke bowl at a French restaurant. No edamame, no seaweed – rice, avocado, mango and tuna. The tuna quality was so poor, that I didn’t eat it. My friend ordered escargot – which she was so looking forward to – said there was no taste – and not enough garlic. Our waiter never came back and asked how our food was.

Came here for a dinner & ordered the steak frites. Mind you the steak was ordered medium rare & came out medium well. The fries tasted like they popped a bag of Costco frozen fries in the deep fryer quickly. The drinks are good, but for a place to eat especially in midtown there’s better. This was a subpar experience at best but the wait staff was super friendly.

Details matter: dining solo at the bar, I ordered soup & salad. After finishing my soup, with a mouthful of salad, I was asked if I was done with my completely empty bowl of soup. Just take it or ask me when my mouth isn’t full of salad!

Came here with a friend with a service animal. The confidently incorrect hostess immediately demanded papers in direct violation of the ADA. Very disappointed that a restaurant in NYC attempted to illegally deny service. I recommend holding off on Cognac until they review their business practices and train employees on standard restaurant regulations.

I came here for dinner with my family. We order around 200$ worth of food and they did NOT disappoint. This restaurant is nothing below majestic. 5/5 stars and 100% recommend.
