The staff was extremely friendly. The food was very good. The insides a little dated but overall the food makes up for it. I would definitely eat here again when traveling through bowling Green.

I rated this restaurant 5 stars in every category, even atmosphere, as long as you enter the establishment with the concept that it is a diner. When you walk in, it’s the quintessential small town diner- Friendly people and the aroma of good food.

It’s your unique hometown diner!! It’s dated but homie! The food is delicious! Coffee and soda pop tasted just fine to us. The building again has the old hometown feel but clean and felt very comfortable while we were in there for our visit

I did not realize that smoking was allowed in restaurants in the state of Missouri. My first mistake. I ordered sweet and sour chicken. The rice was cool clumped yellow. The sweet-and-sour sauce was nothing I recognized. When I left most of it on my plate the only thing I was asked was if I wanted it to go bag. No apologies for not taking credit cards. I should’ve read the reviews first. Maybe next time I will

The three of us really enjoyed the BG diner. The staff was very friendly. The food was all excellent. If the building got an update, it would probably have a much larger dinner crowd than we saw. You do have to have cash or a check because credit/debit cards are not taken.

Location is a health hazard, beware. First, dense cigarette smoke hits you as you walk in. The smoking area is to the left of the door and has open air to the remainder of the room. It seems the circulation system in the restaurant pushes the smoke filled air into the main room. Second, the restroom had no toilet paper. We notified staff/management of the lack of toilet paper and waited four minutes. On second check, the restroom still had no toilet paper. The restroom was ok on general cleanliness. Coffee was no good. And, be sure to bring cash as the restaurant has not entered the 21st century by accepting credit and debit cards. Unless you enjoy dining in cigarette smoke, being unable to use the bathroom after a greasy meal and paying a fee to the local ATM to get dirty paper cash – stay away.

Coffee & tea did not taste good at all. I don’t know what was wrong with the coffee. The tea tasted like it was run through the coffee machine without being cleaned out really well. The bathroom smelled like raw sewage. The breaded pork tenderloin was huge & tasted good.

It’s not a beautiful or fancy place, but mostly good quality food. Had the walleye fish, which was hot and crispy, fresh and tasty. The side of fries was also fresh and hot. The green beans were lackluster, just opened a can of libby’s. And the salad was not exciting, just basic iceberg and dressing, not toppings or anything spexial. My companion had fried chicken that she said was also delish, and it was also fresh and hot.
